In a letter from her lawyer, Meredith Watson claims she was raped by Fairfax in 2000, when they were both students at Duke University. The letter characterizes the alleged attack as “premeditated and aggressive.” “The two were friends but never dated or had any romantic relationship,” the letter says.

You know what they say about sexual predators. It normally doesn’t stop after the first time. He needs to resign.
In fact, the Democrats can retain their power if Fairfax resigns first and Northam names the replacement (presumably a Democrat) and then resigns in disgrace himself.

Now we know why Terry McAwful was so hyped about gaining voting rights for felons since he knows so many of them.
I will wait to see how credible these women are. The Kavanaugh episode has made me very cautious about women coming forward with such accusations years after the fact.
Five thousand to 10,000 bills are introduced in Congress each session. Most are nonsense that just get ignored, “tabled”.
Notice too the use of “civic duty” as an explanation for coming forward. Seem familiar?
It should not escape anyone’s notice how carefully worded the lawyer’s letter is, which gives every appearance of being specifically for the purpose of avoiding libel and defamation suits.
Real victims don’t do these things.

Something’s fishy. The letter from Ms Watson’s attorney doesn’t mention a police report. That it doesn’t, makes me suspect there isn’t one.
Also interesting is that this woman waited eighteen years to reveal this alleged incident in public. Why didn’t she go public when Fairfax was running for Lt Governor?
I’m not defending Fairfax, but the timing of this announcement is shady.
