After dozens of House Republicans demanded access to a secure facility in the Capitol on Wednesday where House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., was preparing to depose a Pentagon official, Democrats expressed outrage at the breach of protocol. “They’re doing this because this is what the guilty do,” said Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif. “Innocent people cooperate with investigations. Innocent people follow the rules of the House.”
Well, people engaged in impartial investigations aimed at finding the truth don’t violate every precedent and standard of due process set during previous presidential impeachments.
Contrast today’s partisan inquiry with the Nixon impeachment. As American Enterprise Institute President Robert Doar has pointed out, the Nixon inquiry was a model of bipartisan cooperation. The Democratic chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Peter Rodino (N.J.), assembled a unified staff (including Doar’s father, John, a Republican whom Rodino appointed as special counsel). The full House voted on authorizing the inquiry. The minority was given joint subpoena power. The president’s counsel was allowed to be present during depositions, given access to all of the documents and materials presented to the committee, allowed to cross-examine witnesses, and even permitted to call witnesses of his own. Most important, the committee did not leak or release selective documents cherry-picked to make the president look bad.

Well, for one thing, Swallwell wouldn’t possibly have a clue as to what decent innocent people do. It’s a completely alien concept to every dem and RINO pol.

As soon as the Republicans were convinced that Nixon was guilty, they confronted him, made it clear that they would not defend him the guilty, and withdrew all their support.
As soon as the Democrats were convinced that Clinton was guilty, they circled the wagons, defended him en masse, and fought like gutter rats to protect him and the Democrat power structure.
That's the difference between the Republican Party and the Party of Slavery, the Ku Klux Klan, Coup d'État, Illegal Immigration, Voter Fraud, Infanticide, Satanism, etC.
Until an impeachment vote is held in the House to start the inquiry...there is no impeachment. The pretender-game here, is that you will conduct secretive hearings....stage some type of paperwork to create charges, and then ‘suddenly’ have a impeachment inquiry done (in a matter of minutes and not weeks).
I now believe that when this happens, and McConnell is handed the package, there will be a up and down vote a day later, and the package will be refused until the inquiry is done in the recognized ‘correct’ manner. They will hand it back to a courier to deliver to Nancy Pelosi, and she’ll say the House’s job is done. The Senate will be blamed because they can’t handle 4th-grade kid operation of impeachment that the House conducted.
I’ll also point this out. In a normal impeachment, the House is supposed to do the leg-work...using their powers, and the evidence is supposed to be part of the total package given to the Senate. The Senate is supposed to review the facts and testimony and decide upon some or zero amount of guilt. If the House doesn’t do their job, and McConnell tries to continue on with this...the Senate would be log-jammed for three or four months...having individual Senate committees doing the work that the House refused to conduct. In simple terms, every witness would be recalled, and the potential for false testimony goes to mammoth proportions.
In this case, the Senate could be standing there with half of the whole House package in pieces and everyone shaking their heads because the whole thing looks like one of the K-cars from Chrysler. They’d be unable to vote for the impeachment or against it....because nothing makes sense anymore.

Clinton was impeached. There was a Clinton Impeachment. Nixon resigned before The House voted on impeachment, so there was no Nixon Impeachment. If the current coup attempt goes away with no impeachment vote, then Trump was never impeached.
A kangaroo court won’t make impeachment stick. Also called a drumhead tribunal.
Democrats can’t point to one thing Trump is guilty of because if they had him cold, they’d be telling us all about it.

Trump appeared to be cruising for an easy win in 2020. Right now it’s working against Trump. The republican controlled Senate wants to use impeachment to damage Trump also but they won’t convict I don’t think. The Senate will find that Trump did some things wrong but it doesn’t rise to the level of impeachment and removal from office. I think Trump did nothing wrong and you gotta dumb no to see through the latest attempt to impeach.

The way this is being done these deepstate ‘witnesses” can pretty much say anything they want...Not going to end well.
I’ve always heard that Hillary was fired from Watergate Nixon prosecution because she lied, was unethical and advocated depriving Nixon of legal counsel. This is exactly what the House has done this time. Hillary has been “vindicated” in a sense. The Dems have followed her off the cliff.
A more evil person never lived. Calling Melania “Jezebel” at Cummings funeral?! Who the hell she thinks she is?
