Chinese visa workers are trying to keep their white-collar jobs in the United States amid the coronavirus epidemic and the federal freeze on H-1B visa applications.

These back-of-the-envelope estimates suggest that roughly 60,000 Chinese are working on H-1Bs, roughly 60,000 are working on three-year STEM-OPT permits, perhaps 100,000 are working on one-year STEM or CPT jobs, perhaps 30,00 are on other visas, and perhaps 20,000 are working as postdocs. There are roughly 270,000 resident Chinese visa workers holding jobs in the United States.

With the highest US unemployment numbers since the Great Depression maybe it is time for them to go home.

It’s the same issue letting anyone in so they can escape their communist hell-phone. If we take them in we are acting as a pressure relief valve which prevents any change in their original country. That means we will be forced to keep taking in people because the cause of their unhappiness will never change.

All H-1B works should be sent home. There are stem workers being layoff now. They should be allow to replace H-1B workers. Americans First. We should cancel all off shore IT contracting too... We have no Stem worker Shortage.

I just ran into a office worker in H&R who was a IT director that could not find a Stem Job when she got replace by an outsource H-1B worker. She is working for a third of her pay because of her age (50s). She is available for a Stem job.

It’s time for Chinese citizens to go back to China. There’s a reason their government let them come here - and it’s NOT to help American companies.

They need to leave. And we need to stop accepting them in the future... The Chinese people are fine - but their culture and leadership sucks.
