Reade: ‘I didn’t use sexual harassment’ in Biden complaint
AP ^ | 05 02 2020 | ALEXANDRA JAFFE, DON THOMPSON and STEPHEN BRAUN

Posted on 05/02/2020 3:09:45 PM PDT by yesthatjallen

Tara Reade, the former Senate staffer who alleges Joe Biden sexually assaulted her 27 years ago, says she filed a limited report with a congressional personnel office that did not explicitly accuse him of sexual assault or harassment.

“I remember talking about him wanting me to serve drinks because he liked my legs and thought I was pretty and it made me uncomfortable,” Reade said in an interview Friday with The Associated Press. “I know that I was too scared to write about the sexual assault.”

Reade said she described her issues with Biden but “the main word I used — and I know I didn’t use sexual harassment — I used ‘uncomfortable.’ And I remember ‘retaliation.’”

Reade described the report after the AP discovered additional transcripts and notes from its interviews with Reade last year in which she says she “chickened out” after going to the Senate personnel office. The AP interviewed Reade in 2019 after she accused Biden of uncomfortable and inappropriate touching. She did not raise allegations of sexual assault against Biden until this year, around the time he became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

The existence of the Senate report has become a key element of the accusations against Biden, which he has flatly denied. Reade says she doesn’t have a copy of the report, and Biden said Friday that he is not aware that any complaint against him exists. He asked the Senate and the National Archives to search their records to try to locate a complaint from Reade.

Yep just like bill and hillary. This lady actually sounds credible and the fact she is still a Democrat and one of her friends that is backing her up is a Biden supporter. All the women that accuse Republicans are always liberals.

Fake news? Reading the article, it is obvious that the reporter is minimizing what happened to Reade and to some others mentioned. Biden’s actions were just passed off as being normal and accepted back then. Changing social norms have placed those actions in a different light today. Move on, nothing to see here.

And then her litany of accusations expanded again in March/April of 2020 ...

** It is real corroborating evidence. **

Read it again. I never said it wasn’t. We just don’t know exactly “what” the complaint was. Somebody ‘found’ that Larry King interview, which I find pretty convenient. Reade herself seemed not to know about it until it was played for her.

So this means you were wrong when you wrote "we now find out?"

Changing social norms have placed those actions in a different light today. Move on, nothing to see here.

If we take your premise literally to mean her 2019 accusations of being fired for not being eye candy "serving drinks" for a Senator and then being retaliated against, how does that stack up against the Democrats disqualifying Mitt Romney for having "binders of women" in 2012, meaning background checks on qualified women to work in his administration?

Were the actions she DID recount really acceptable "social norms" in 1993, Bill Clinton's first year in office, or is it really changing the goalposts when the Democrats are on the receiving end of the scandal?

Was Romney having research on highly qualified women in 2012 WORSE than Biden wanting women staffers to be cocktail waitresses in 1993?

I have both agreed & disagreed with Alberta’s child. She is actually very rational in her posts. Just because you disagree with her is no reason to slang her off.

I think Reade, from what I’ve read is not credible at all. I also thought Blasey Ford was not at all credible. And she seems like a person with a lot of issues as does Reade.

It’s fine for us to disagree, but your disrespectful comment towards Alberta’s Child is not okay. And false. And frankly rude.

Couple of things.....

First of all, she tweeted out today the AP story was not correct.

Secondly, regardless of what she may or may not have called it at the time, her description of what Biden did would be considered sexual assault or rape (by todays standards). So this is all a word salad distraction by the AP...

Yes, the concept was definitely there but I don’t think that the term was solidified enough that she would necessarily use it in a complaint. Certainly it was in the air though.

On the other hand, she was pretty specific and graphic in what she was complaining about, even if she didn’t use that term. So if the press is quibbling that she didn’t use the term “sexual harassment,” that’s just their usual attempt to protect the Dem.

I think Biden is going to have trouble getting out of this, particularly since it seems as if some of the Dems are having second thoughts on him (because he’s gaga) and are worried about what will happen when he actually has to emerge in public. His stammering, stuttering and incoherent interview the other day probably scared the socks off them.

Sleepy Joe needs to get out of his house and vigoursly defend his reputation and attack his accuser.

If Joe does not fight for himself, he will never fight for the little guy.

President Trump will hammer Sleepy Joe for rolling over and giving China everything they want

[I despise Biden, but this dingbat has all the credibility of a Gloria Allred client.]

Leaving that aside, how about visual credibility? Kavanaugh’s accuser at least looked the part - a looker whose best days were behind her. The way Reade has blimped up, who thinks anyone was ever interested in her in a non-platonic way?

...My bet is Hillary still hasn’t given up her ambition to rule.

*************

She’s got more baggage than a chinese suitcase factory. She’s still officially under investigation for the 30K emails. The Steele dossier (fusion gps, etc). The Benghazi disaster. The 2016 election circus (coughs, passes out, D. Brazille gives her town hall questions in advance, L.Lynch meets Bill on the airport tarmac, she owns the DNC, Uranium one... She steals funds from the Haitian people. The corrupt clinton foundation.

I dont know how many people have forgot about just the stuff i mentioned...but if i remember, i guarantee a whole lot of others do also.

It may well be that she is telling the truth, but right now.....she seems not credible at all.

She definitely had corroboration, but I’m not sure exactly WHAT those others would corroborate. Did they corroborate the information in her original complaint? In her April 2019 allegations? In her March/April 2020 allegations? She’s been all over the map on this.
