Former U.S. attorney Joe DiGenova says the public shouldn't worry about whether or not charges are filed against Barack Obama and Joe Biden for their role in the weaponization of the intelligence community against Donald Trump and his campaign.
"Shaming" them will undoubtedly happen, with or without charges, he argued in an interview with Boston radio host Howie Carr.
"I happen to believe that the public shaming of former President Obama and Vice President Biden is far more important than indicting them," he said.
Attorney General William Barr said Monday he does not expect the Justice Department's review of the origins of the Obama administration's Trump-Russia probe to lead to a criminal investigation of the former president and vice president.

My theory is they quit because they believed the Russian Hoax and feared POTUS Trump would be Impeached. They couldn’t stomach defending him.

If Obama was put on trial, it would be in Washington DC. Does anyone really believe that a jury in Washington DC is going to convict the first Black president who is also a Dem??!! Obama would unanimously be declared to be innocent by any DC jury and that would be the new Dem talking point. diGenova is just speaking about reality.

I agree that it will help more if Obama IS NOT held legally accountable. They will turn it into another birther type conspiracy and claim that everybody is targeting the poor first black president.
It will be far more effective to dirty him up by indicting other high-level players rather than making him a martyr. Making the 2020 election about how much the Democrats have cheated in the past two cycles is the path to victory which is much more important than meaningless show trials.
Obama and Biden can still be sued in a civil lawsuit. Damages in such a case would be huge. If they were indicted, the case wouldn’t go to trial for many years.
