N.J. restaurants NOT reopening for indoor dining this week after ‘knucklehead’ crowds at bars ruin it for everyone

New Jersey will not reopen indoor dining this week as planned in the first major reversal of the state’s Phase 2 coronavirus reopening plan, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday.

Indoor dining was scheduled to resume Thursday along with several other big reopening steps including Atlantic City casinos, amusement parks, boardwalk rides and arcades ahead of the busy July 4th weekend. The canceled reopening also includes wedding venues and banquet halls. But the reopening of casinos remains scheduled for Thursday.

Murphy cited recent scenes from expanded outdoor bar and restaurants showing packed crowds not wearing masks and ignoring social distancing as a reason from pausing indoor dining indefinitely.

Murphy had provided the detailed restrictions for indoor dining at restaurants on Saturday, but changed his mind just two days later. The restrictions had included 25% capacity limits, tables spaced 6 feet apart, face coverings for staff and other rules....

I've been to some of the bars at the Jersey shore. At many, it's basically a glorified keg part, with beer being served in huge solo cups, which is poured from kegs.

How does one drink beer while wearing a mask?

But casinos can open.

Last time I was at a casino in NJ, the booze was free. I don’t know if this is still the case.

I’m not sure how well one can social distance when he or she is blitzed on free booze, but I guess NJ needs to bring in some revenue somehow.

Unfortunately, I reside in the Northwest County in NJ. We are primarily a rural county. My wife and I packed up our RV and got the hell out of that $hit-stain of a state and are teleworking from the road. Murphy is a POS and his democrat followers make me sick.
The same day that a-hole did his little photo-op at the BLM rally, a friend of mine got two $1000 tickets for protesting against his lockdown orders. What a piece of garbage. I loathe that man.

I really wish everyone that is so scared of the covid would just go inside and leave the rest of us alone. We will go about normal business, let nature do its thing, and have immunity for all soon.

If you are scared, hide. The rest of us are more than willing to do the heavy lifting in getting mankind immunity.

So is it the bars? Restaurants with drinks aren’t a problem?

Protests with 10s of thousands in the streets aren’t the problem?

You got it if your a target stay away form bars and crowds...let the rest of us live a normal life..

Everyone is using this virus to not have to work at work and get paid....

Example ...Management company for HOA with 2,000 homes ..You can email them but you cannot go to the office..

One question for Murphy? When will you stop a “protest” where everyone is not wearing a mask and not at least six feet apart? You won’t? Ahhhh, the hypocrite I always knew you were.

I went to a bar in Clifton. Across the street, a half block away, I found two see-through gallon milk containers filled with some homeless person’s urine. There was a darker gallon container that I dared not investigate. These were left next to a wall covered in real poison ivy that was the separation between an industrial park and a residential area.

I walked this in broad daylight and it was very apparent from people there they did not think any sane person should be walking in that area. In fact, stopping into this bar for a drink I had three employees quizzing me for over an hour trying to get me to admit I was with the government, seemingly there to report them over something I would find. The bar takes only cash and has no Internet or computer to do anything for the owners or staff.

It was a bizarre experience. They wanted to know my hotel, how long I was staying there, and what restaurant I was planning on eating at in the evening.

Of course I misled them and told them I really enjoyed this hotel (a hotel a block away from mine) and that the breakfasts were quite nice.

I learned New Jersey leaves a lot to be desired and I couldn’t understand why anyone would ever willingly visit that general area of the state.

Pee jugs. Two of them.

Yeah, that would be nice. I'm sick of these whiners.

“Everyone is using this virus to not have to work at work and get paid....”

They sure are. Tons of people not returning to work cause they are getting paid better on unemployment.

I posted on Cruise Critic that all those insisting on others wearing masks, not to protect themselves, but to protect others should simply get a real mask that protects themselves and let the rest of us cruise in tranquility.

I have pointed out to some that when they complain that those wearing masks are only spreading the virus that they’re doing a public service.

Just a pretense...like Herschel Gryzpom murdered the German ambassador as a pretense for Kristillnacht, or the George Floyd killing a pretense for Democrats to riot.

But the reopening of casinos remains scheduled for Thursday.

Of course. He needs the tax money.

‘What a piece of garbage. I loathe that man.’

My sentiment exactly!

If only all of us ignore him and go about living our normal lives! what can he do - throw every one in jail? Oh yes, fine heavily. We just don’t pay so he has to throw us in jail?
Unfortunately his insane/stupid followers go by his every word like they are from the bible.....

There is no unity among the New Jerseyans to protest the tyranny.
And they can take away business licence and make the owners’ lives miserable.

I really hate those who insanely voted and will vote again for him!!!!!!
