The owner of Kindness Yoga, and one of the most well-known yogis in Denver, is struggling to piece together the words to explain what happened — in the span of a week — to his once-stellar reputation and his 19-year-old business. He is stunned, though remorseful. He is eager to speak up, yet on edge for fear of saying anything that could make all of this any worse.
Harrington, a straight, white guy who expanded Kindness to nine studios and 160 employees across metro Denver, announced last week that he was closing them all after a handful of yoga teachers, including a Black woman and a transgender man, called out Kindness on social media for “performative activism” and “tokenization of Black and brown bodies.” The teachers’ public comments, following a Black Lives Matter post on Kindness’ Instagram page that they termed too little, too late, evoked a backlash that was fierce and immediate.
”My goal is to represent our attempts at being a diverse, inclusive place where people felt like they belonged,” he begins, slowly. “I may not say things perfectly … I’m practicing learning how to speak in a way that is more inclusive and caring of diversity.”....

It's a fairly well written piece, a little jumbled at the beginning, but it gets clearer, written even-handedley to the participants I would say.
Some will chortle and say the Left are eating themselves. Which they are, and quite frankly that is always a horrible thing to see. But if you think they'll stop before they get to us, you are wrong.
Something must be done. We must figure out what that is. I haven't seen a good idea yet, sorry to say it.
This man was a big lefty, I suppose. But he was a well intentioned person. Like the poor random woman who went as Megyn Kelly in blackface to a freaking costume party. So, she was trying to be funny, or silly, or, dare I say it, shocking & transgressive, none of which are crimes.
But she, and this guy, and so many other well intentioned people are having their lives ruined because, why? Why, exactly, is this happening?
Stay out of politics if you are a business.

From what I understand of the description of the business model, it wasn’t really a viable one in any case.
Leftism is about control over others through fear and intimidation. It’s about power. Terrorize enough people and most will just submit.
Generation Ritalin and Adderall all grown up. Real life shockingly not like video games. Mental hospitals shuttered in the '70s and '80s by liberal activists out of "compassion." Old hippies reliving their youth, and their indoctrinated children and grandchildren coming along for the ride. Hillary lost and gave us all a sad. Everything everywhere unfair because racism or something.

Just as I suspected. This was a mere business competitor assassination. The two teachers at his studio making the complaints opened their own virtual yoga studios during Covid lockdowns. This was nothing but a cold-blooded move to get customers from the studio over to their businesses.

He got scorched by his employees for not being a flaming liberal nutjob, they accused him of saying to little. Silence is violence and then they scorched him again for trying to not offend. The loss of 160 jobs while small to metro Denver is devastating for the 158 employees that didn’t raise hell about this liberal insanity. But the 2 apparatchiks exact a terrible price for a business person trying to be inclusive to all lives not just the black brown and transgendered kommisars of the new proletariat.
It sounds like he constantly was trying to ride the ever-changing wave of leftist political correctness. The only lesson is - don’t try, because it will eventually swallow you.

Seems like two of the instructors wanted to start their own biz on the corpse of Kindness.
It also shows that no amount of groveling or appeasement is enough.
The racial crap was just a tool, used by employees, to shut down their established competition before they started their own business (that would be idiots you were talking about). At least that’s how it appears to me.
Follow the money. Always follow the money. Even or perhaps, especially, with self-proclaim virtuous leftists.
This guy is a Leftist. He’s just a Leftist not quite up to speed with the ever-changing Leftist speech/thought Nazi’s terms/thoughts allowed and not allowed. And, competitors hunted for and found a weakness to exploit. To their hoped for financial benefit.
Basic management would tell every business to get rid of bad apples immediately. The two trouble makers undoubtedly spread ill will and discontent among their colleagues and clients for some time. Especially if they are both starting new businesses now. Those are not spontaneous decisions. Dastardly tactic to get rid of the business you work for to prime the market for two new replacements.
I highly doubt either of these two malcontents will find any success as sole proprietors in any field. I’d avoid their businesses at all costs. I don’t practice yoga anyway.
This seems to be happening across the western world and the only way to stop it is by forcefully standing up to it. I believe once people start pushing back, others will support and follow suit. At least, I hope so.
