Biden says he would restore pre-Hobby Lobby contraceptive mandate in wake of Little Sisters ruling
Fox News ^ | July 09 2020 | Tyler Olson

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden was one of many on the left to express dismay at the Supreme Court's Wednesday ruling that the Trump administration acted within its authority when it expanded exemptions to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirement that employers provide insurance that includes contraception, and promised he would return to an Obama-era policy should he be elected.

"As disappointing as the Supreme Court's ruling is, there is a clear path to fixing it: electing a new President who will end Donald Trump's ceaseless attempts to gut every aspect of the Affordable Care Act," Biden said in a statement. "If I am elected, I will restore the Obama-Biden policy that existed before the Hobby Lobby ruling: providing an exemption for houses of worship and an accommodation for nonprofit organizations with religious missions."

Years of litigation -- and the election of a new president -- have slowly morphed the original form of the contraceptive mandate. The ACA did not explicitly mention contraceptives, but said plans must cover certain preventive services laid out by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HSRA), which included contraceptives.

Back to this nonsense...

Ok from what I remember, Hobby Lobby employees and management I saw interviewed at that time all verified that the company already had insurance that covered a dozen contraceptives, BEFORE abominablecare.

What the company objected to was the requirement that they pay for 4 types that act the same as the “morning after pill”. In other words, terminate an existing pregnancy, rather than prevent one. They have no problem with preventing pregnancy, just terminating it.

Grope-O-Matic Biden just wants conception to slap on the butt abortions. And he’s a typical lying POS, it’s not women’s health issues he cares about...

He cares about money and power.

Change my mind

Biden apparently does not have the ability to correctly run a lemonade stand. He is certainly not presidential material for America.

Yep, can’t let something so petty as the rule of law get in our way!

To me, the bigger issue is that of requiring insurance companies to cover contraception, which is not a health issue except in some dangerously broad definition of "health."

One of the great ironies of this issue is that insurance companies actually have a HUGE incentive to cover contraception. It's cheaper for the to pay for contraception than for the costs of maternity care, childbirth, and pediatric care.

Better yet ... this is a huge incentive for EMPLOYERS to insist that their insurers cover the cost of contraceptives.

The mandate, therefore, helps the insurance companies. But if there were no such mandate, people could buy policies that don’t include contraception for less money. Companies that offer such policies, perhaps smaller companies, would find a market for their products.

The fact that no insurance companies have challenged these mandates is very telling. Neither have any state insurance commissioners who have all the legal standing they need to challenge ObamaCare's stupid mandates.

There's a message to be learned here, folks.

Especially for a Nunnery. Nor do I think ED or BC pills should be covered.

I’ve had several meds that are necessary removed from the Tricare Formulary, the ones left cause HIVES, PREDNISONE AND DIABETES DON’T MIX, NOR DOES GLAUCOMA which hubby has RUNS BOTH UP TO DANGEROUS LEVELS.TRY and get them to accept a SPECIALIST Prior Authorization over ride. GOOD LUCK.

"Except he can’t. SCOTUS has ruled and in a rare moment got this one right. "

Yeah, but, if the communists win, a little packing here, and a little packing there, and the reinvigorated SCOTUS will change its decision about this and many many other pesky Constitutional issues...
