An Air Force helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing at a Virginia airport Monday after someone shot at it, injuring a member of the crew, local and military officials told McClatchy.
The UH-1N Huey helicopter is assigned to the 1st Helicopter Squadron at Joint Base Andrews. It was flying about 1,000 feet off the ground, about 10 miles northwest of Manassas Regional Airport when the incident occurred, the Air Force said in a statement.

1000 ft. That limits the search area quite a bit.
10 m NW of Manassas is open farmland.
At first, I thought this happened between DC and Manassas, which would point to deranged lib. Now, it could maybe be some anti-gov rightest, or some lefty organic farmer or vintner. Or some loser kid out playing with his dad’s rifle.
Make sure that the meat isn’t spoiled. We cant have any buzzards, vultures or crows made ill.
Pot growers are not going to shoot at a DEA chopper. There are so many places where you can grow pot legally, or at least without a lot of hassle that the DEA only goes after the BIG growers.
The last thing the cartel wants is to have a whole operation rolled up because someone is shooting at a cop. If that were the case, the shooter is already dead.
This was some idiot thinking they are playing Call of Duty.
Back when I was a helicopter flight pilot flying medevac after a mission that we did at 1 o’clock in the morning (roadside accident). The next day I had some farmer call our operations and say he was going to shoot at us if we flew over his place again, he was into the black helicopter theory and said he had cows mutilated. I am mediately called the feds.
