Hated In Good Company Way back when I was a hippie, all the pot and loud music couldn’t cloud the fact that the wrong side of any debate was usually the more dramatic, flowery presentation. The plentiful aesthetics, drugs, sex, music, movies, etc. of the 60s only proved to deaden everybody’s brains. Believe it or not, when LSD and marijuana first became popular, I was actually excited because I (like eventually even Elvis) thought that drugs could change the thinking that got us into wars and racism. I remember when my flower-child friends were no longer ‘turning on’ for love...

Rick Gates, a former top official in President Trump’s campaign, has agreed to plead guilty Friday afternoon to conspiracy and lying to the FBI, according to court papers filed by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. The guilty plea, which is scheduled for 2 p.m., caps a busy week for Mueller’s investigation of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and related issues. It also ends a tumultuous period for Gates, who found himself re-indicted, changing lawyers and agreeing to plead guilty all within 24 hours. According to a criminal information — a document filed with the permission of the defendant...

One would think that everyone who lost a child or loved on in the horrific Parkland shooting spree should be able to view the video and be privy to every detail of the tragedy Like a Laurence Olivier of the CNN ‘Townhall’ acting world, Sheriff Scott Israel was accorded standing ovations when he took NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch to task under the curiously benevolent directorship of Jake Tapper, on Wednesday night. Never once did the Olivier of CNN’s “townhall” ever mention that he happened to be in possession of a video showing that armed and uniformed School Resource Deputy Scot...

Guns and I go back a long way. My father was a champion skeet shooter. A picture of him aiming his favorite pump skyward has pride of place in our living room. He owned fine rifles and shotguns, and he valued them. My first experience with pulling a trigger came late, by family standards. I was already 7 or 8 when my dad and “Uncle” George took me out back of Old Lily’s house and handed me a sawed-off shotgun (illegal then and now) kept handy for woodchucks and rattlesnakes. The recoil didn’t knock me off my feet, but my...

The milk primarily targets infants allergic to cow’s milk. Camel milk for centuries was a staple for Bedouin peoples across the Gulf, who continue to include the vitamin-rich milk in their modern-day diets. A UAE-based company has unveiled what it calls the world’s first camel-based baby formula, an instant powder mix aimed mainly at infants allergic to cow’s milk. The Emirates Industry for Camel Milk & Products, or “Camelicious”, on Monday unveiled the product at Gulfood 2018, an international food and beverage trade event which runs from February 18 to 22 in Dubai. The milk, which it says is suitable...

GANGNEUNG, South Korea – It ended with a duck and a dodge, which was sad. Shani Davis deserved better than that. He finished seventh in what was probably the final race of his Olympic career, and then he ducked out of the rink without walking though the mixed zone so that he could dodge the media. As athlete crimes go, this was a parking ticket. Not a big deal. But by doing it, Davis robbed himself. Maybe he doesn’t care about a grand sendoff. More likely, he didn’t trust us to give him one, and that is what is sad:...

Want To Lose A Lot Of Weight Fast? Move To Venezuela! Despite the admittedly sarcastic nature of the title of this article, today’s story highlights an ongoing, dire, and rapidly worsening situation for the people of Venezuela. As the socialist government of dictator Nicolas Maduro continues to drive the nation toward complete collapse, a new study compiled by three universities shows that that vast majority of Venezuelans are literally starving at this point. The problem has become so serious that the average citizen there has lost nearly 25 pounds of body weight over just the past year. (Reuters)

U.S.—Sources across the United States confirmed Friday that the cross-section of citizenry which has been comparing President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler for two years has begun to demand that he take guns away from all citizens at once. Passionate protests and rallies recently all demanded the “dangerous madman” confiscate everybody’s firearms. “Trump is a dangerous tyrant, so he should be the only one with deadly weapons!” one woman screamed at an anti-gun protest. “People obviously can’t be trusted with them. Instead, we need to entrust them only to the most powerful man on the planet, who has proven time...

Gun Deaths: It's become commonplace to hear after a U.S. shooting tragedy that, when it comes to guns, America is just more violent than other countries, especially those in Europe, where many countries have stiff gun-control laws. It's a progressive shibboleth, but even some conservatives agree. The only problem is, it's not true. Yes, America does have a lot of gun violence. But more than other countries, especially in Europe?

After each mass public shooting in the U.S. – such as the horrific attack at a Florida high school last week that killed 17 people – gun control advocates keep pointing to Australia as the role model America should follow to reduce gun deaths. If only reducing crime and suicides was so easy. In reality, gun control efforts in Australia have not been as successful as we’ve been led to believe.

Another mass killing has taken place in the defenseless victim zone of a Florida high school in the Miami metropolitan area of Broward County. The major media in this country has blood on its hands. They know that mass murderers are incentivized by media coverage that gives a form of immortality to the deranged killers. The pattern is clear. Many of the killers are open about their desire for infamy. The Port Arther murderer asked his lawyer, again and again: “Did I break the record?”.The media does not care how many innocents die because of their push for ratings...

On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported its new ABC News-Washington Post poll on mass shootings on the front page. They asked: “Do you think that mass shootings in this country are more a reflection of problems identifying and treating people with mental health problems, or inadequate gun control laws?" By more than two to one (57 to 28 percent), people picked the mental health issues. On this shooting in particular, that divide might seem obvious. Actually, that poll finding was nowhere to be found in the Post story. ABC's Jonathan Karl briefly mentioned it as "interesting" on Tuesday's Good Morning...

The X5 xDrive40e is the first plug-in hybrid production model from BMW's core lineup. Starting at an estimated MSRP of $74,950 CAD, before options, it's a darn fine vehicle and equipped well even at that trim level (it's a premium...

Updated 2 hours 51 minutes ago A discussion among students at Oberlin High School in Oberlin, La., about a mathematical symbol led to a police investigation and a search of one of the student’s homes, according to the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office. On the afternoon of Feb. 20, detectives investigated a report of terroristic threats at the school, where they learned that a student had been completing a math problem that required drawing the square-root sign. Students in the group began commenting that the symbol, which represents a number that when multiplied by itself equals another number, looked like a...
