Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a “permitless carry” bill into law on April 3, making Florida the 26th state to do so, according to pro-Second Amendment groups. The legislation, passed by the Florida Legislature, allows people to carry a concealed weapon without a permit and without state-mandated training. It will go into effect starting July 1. Indy Car League Driver Tony Renna had died this past Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, in a fatal car accident at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He was on his fourth lap of a practice run going speeds exceeding 220 MPH when he had hit the wall coming out of turn 3. Renna was pronounced dead upon arriving at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
