ADELANTO, Calif. - FBI, fire and sheriff's investigators determined there's no evidence the burning of a Mojave Desert mosque was a hate crime. The mosque at the United Islamic Youth Organization Cemetery, two miles north of Southern California Logistics Airport, burned to the ground during a pre-dawn blaze June 3 and there were initial suspicions it was deliberately torched and may have been a hate crime. "There is no evidence it was a hate crime. They don't even have anything pointing toward arson," Robin Haynal, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, said Monday. ADELANTO - An early Friday morning blaze that destroyed a mosque in a cemetery has prompted the FBI to investigate whether the fire was started by someone motivated by hate. Laura Bosley, an FBI spokeswoman, said the agency has not determined whether the fire that leveled the mosque at the United Islamic Youth Organization and Cemetery is a hate crime.
