When Columbus first landed in Cuba and Puerto Rico in 1492-93, he and his crew were met and surrounded by the happy and ecstatic Indians, who consisted the absolute majority of the American continent’s population. I did not find a single Indian on the island back in 1975, though there were lots of the monuments of both Indian men and women in Guama (Matanzas), a well-known Indian village in Cuba. When I, then a 14-year-old youngster, who was full of impressions from those books and westerns, where the chiefs like Chingachgook and Geronimo were the heroes, same as their opponents,...

The proposal, conceived by a bunch of pointy-headed Parisian philosophes, sounded brilliant: A universal system of measurement, derived from decimal-based units and identified by a shared set of prefixes. It would end the era of merchants buying goods according to one unit, selling in another, and pocketing the ill-gotten profit. It would simplify scientific calculations and enable the free exchange of ideas around the world. It was an enlightened system for an enlightened time. If only the French scientists could persuade other countries to adopt it. But pirates have a way of ruining even the best-laid plans. In 1793, botanist...

Donald Trump’s tough talk on illegal immigration was a big part of the reason Dave Hagstrom and many others in this booming Phoenix suburb supported him for president. “Walls make good neighbors,” Hagstrom said. So when the president moved this week to cut a deal — with Democrats no less — to block the expulsion of 800,000 immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children, was Hagstrom disappointed? Not at all. “If you were to deport them, where would they go?” Hagstrom, 60, a car-warranty manager, asked on his way to a Bible-study dinner at an upscale shopping mall. “To...

The cap that President Trump has refused to lift on H-2B visas has forced companies all over the United States to do the unthinkable and hire American workers! What’s worse is that they are complaining that they have to pay American workers more…Tell me again; didn’t someone say that immigration was good for Americans? Is this not irrefutable evidence that the low-skilled (or living in low-opportunity areas) workers are being squeezed out of the job market by workers who are willing to take a lower wage? Isn’t this known as wage-suppression? The fact that employers are hiring people as seasonal...

On July 29th, Americans are coming together all across the country to say: OUR LIVES ARE ON THE LINE if Republicans pass Trumpcare and strip our health coverage

While most Americans are gathering with family and community this weekend to celebrate the most exceptional country in the history of the world, Mr. Hope and Change is halfway around the world talking doom and gloom — and criticizing his successor.  Barack Obama visited Indonesia this weekend, and in a series of appearances, attacked love of country and the policies of Donald Trump. The Guardian reports:The former US president said some countries had adopted “an aggressive kind of nationalism†and “increased resentment of minority groupsâ€, in a speech in Indonesia on Saturday that could be seen as a commentary...

America belongs to immigrants because immigrants make the nation more powerful, says a former Wall Street Journal writer who is now working for the New York Times. Immigrants produce more babies, work harder, create more jobs, and have more ideas, claims the revealing column by immigration-advocate Bret Stephens: I speak of Americans whose families have been in this country for a few generations. Complacent, entitled and often shockingly ignorant on basic points of American law and history, they are the stagnant pool in which our national prospects risk drowning… Bottom line: So-called real Americans are screwing up America. Maybe they...

A man has been charged with fatally shooting a Marine in the drive-thru of a McDonald's in Bedford, Indiana, according to police and NBC affiliate WTHR. Justin Lampkins, 25, was in a truck with his friends in line at the fast food restaurant early Saturday morning about 1:19 a.m., police say. The Marine Corps veteran was involved in a fight after “a horn was sounded” in the line and Evan Schaffer,22, got out of his car and punched Lampkins, WTHR reports. Police say it's unclear who honked the horn.

Americans who have bought into this globalist agenda blindly and are trying to replace Americanism with Cultural Marxism and Islamo-fascism Western Europeans have been watching the vitriolic opposition to President Trump with great personal interest, wondering if Americans have lost their minds. Being the inveterate leftists that they are, even in the face of demographic suicide, they were rooting for a like-minded female socialist who vowed to turn the U.S. into the European basket case model of failed multiculturalism and diversity, flooding their countries with more and more Islamists in order to forever change the western culture into a Caliphate....

Destroying the left-wing narrative For whatever reason, the voters of California have decided that Maxine Waters is the kind of crazy person they want to keep in Congress. I’m not sure why that is, but left-coasters also keep Pelosi employed so, clearly, there’s something in the water out there. Anyway, Ms. Waters hates Trump. She wants him impeached. She’s vowed to impeach him herself. On what grounds she intends to do this, no one seems to be sure.

According to Breitbart, the masked man was arrested on Monday after getting into a scuffle with a group of thugs who approached him as he carried an American flag around Berkeley, California. Stickman – aka Kyle Chapman – was apparently promoting a free speech rally scheduled for today. He was accompanied by a cameraman who captured a group of thugs following and taunting him as he waved his flag.

Anonymous sources within the FBI have revealed to The Times that they have new evidence indicating that everyone who voted for Donald Trump is an agent of the FSB (formerly the KGB). An unknown portion of these voters may have had their minds controlled by a Russian space-beam, agents close to the investigation say. The allegation that 62 million Americans appear to be employed by Russian intelligence services has rocked the Bureau, and it is reported that multiple agents have taken their own lives, given that realizing just how deep this Russian hacking conspiracy runs blew their minds – literally....

As we search for answers as to why President Trump and his Transition Team were surveilled in November and December of 2016, and January 2017, we actually can go back to the Patriot Act. After 9-11 Americans were taken advantage of due to their fears of another 9-11 terrorist attack. The lawmakers had us right where they wanted us; thus, the Patriot Act was passed. Little did we know that we would have no privacy ever again. Remember FBI Director James Comey said the other day, “no one has any privacy.” The surveillance of Trump Team is a serious violation...

So much winning How hard a win is this, really? Prevailing over the media is sort of like when you go to the gym and you glance over at the 400-pound guy on the treadmill and think to yourself, “I’m in better shape than him!” Right. You’re Mr. Universe, champ.

Media histronics still influencing no one Was I too harsh on my fellow Americans on Monday? Well, I did qualify my judgment that this is not a serious country when it comes to questions of national security, speculating that the protesters might be more vocal than numerous. And I changed my mind about writing a followup piece titled “Nation of babies demands protection from evil without anyone getting inconvenience or upset.” I thought that was awfully magnanimous of me.

Amazon on Monday unveiled the latest plan to automate American workers out of existence — a futuristic grocery store without any cashiers. High-tech sensors and artificial intelligence are allowing shoppers at the Seattle food market to swipe an app when they enter, then roam the aisles and grab staples like bread and milk, artisanal cheeses and chocolates and ready-made meals. Customers can watch as the items they pluck off the shelves get added to a virtual cart on the app — and subtracted if they put them back — with receipts emailed to them once they leave, according to the...

Trump's branding acumen may have been crucial to his upset victory on Tuesday. From July to September, Gallup asked Americans what they had heard, read, or seen about presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. A few obvious trends emerged in the word clouds published by Gallup in September and formed from 30,000 interviews. .....

Death awaits all of us, but how patiently? To unlock the mystery of when we’re going to die, start with an actuary. Members of this 200-year-old profession who study risk and uncertainty pore over the data of death to estimate length of life. Putting aside the spiritual, that’s crucial information for insurance companies and pension plans, and it’s also helpful for planning retirement, since we need our money to last as long we do. The latest, best guesses for U.S. lifespans come from a study (PDF) released this month by the Society of Actuaries: The average 65-year-old American man should...

Robert Creamer, founder and partner of Democracy Partners, the group behind the organized violence at Trump rallies, as shown in the video by James O’Keefe and Project Veritas, is no ordinary agitator. Creamer, a convicted felon, is arguably the spiritual godfather of ObamaCare and much of the current progressive left agenda. Creamer, along with his wife, Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky is no stranger to agitation, violence, and expanding the progressive agenda. As Investor’s Business Daily pointed out in March 5, 2010 editorial regarding protests against House Ways and Means Chairman Dan Rostenkowski over the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988,...
