  • Christine Ford Signed Letter Against Trump Border Policy

    09/16/2018 10:53:23 PM PDT · by TigerClaws · 63 replies
Christine Ford – whose full name is Christine Blasey Ford – signed a letter with other health professionals demanding that President Donald Trump stop his controversial policy on family separations at the border. She signed the letter as Christine Blasey, and it was used as an exhibit in an ACLU lawsuit against the Trump administration. The Washington Post reports that she is a “registered Democrat who has made small contributions to political organizations.” A review of federal campaign finance records shows donations earmarked for Bernie Sanders, the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Yesterday Twitter rejected four Center for Immigration Studies tweets for use in the Center's Twitter Ads campaign, alleging hateful content. (Several others were approved.) All four tweets use the statutory phrases "illegal alien" or "criminal alien", and all of the tweets referenced law enforcement, either at the border or in the interior. One of the tweets contained a powerful Daily Caller video showing illegal aliens in camouflage carrying large backpacks across the border unimpeded.

The Department of Justice arrested an Indian CEO when he flew into Sea-Tac airport and charged him with using the H-1B visa-worker program to “compete unlawfully in the market.” The secret investigation and arrest highlight what critics say is endemic fraud and corruption in the Indian-dominated H-1B visa-worker program. [Long article - but deep dive into how H-1B fraud works, plus corporate applications for foreign workers]

One strongly suspects that McCaskill's decision to introduce the legislation right now (about which she can rest comfortably, knowing it will go nowhere in our paralytic Congress) is linked with her struggle to retain her seat, which is up for grabs in the surprisingly tight November election in what has become an increasingly conservative state. [LOL! Is there an election or something? Maybe Ted Cruz will co-sponsor it?]
  • DHS Ending Giant 'Administrative Closure' Amnesty

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reversing the closed-door “administrative closure” amnesty for 350,000 migrants which was quietly created by officials working for former President Barack Obama. The huge amnesty was carried out by Obama’s judges in the immigration courts who told roughly 350,000 migrants that their case files were being placed in storage facilities instead of being used in trials to send them home. But Sessions has ordered that the files be pulled from storage and sent back into the immigration courts, alarming immigration lawyers, and progressives. The migration industry is denouncing the amnesty reversal as an intrusion on the...

President Donald Trump criticized Democrats on Tuesday for blocking his efforts for tough immigration enforcement. “The Democrats want to turn America into one big fat sanctuary city for criminal aliens,” Trump said during a rally in West Virginia with a group of supporters. The crowd booed the Democrats loudly as Trump continued. “Honestly, they are more protective of the criminal aliens than they are of the people,” he said. Trump said he was committed to deporting criminal illegal immigrants, but that Democrats wanted to do the opposite. He criticized Democrats for calling for the abolishment of ICE, while ICE officers...

A Democratic House candidate in Kentucky wants all immigrants living in the country illegally to be granted amnesty. Hank Linderman, who is challenging Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY) in November, made the call in a statement obtained by the Courier Journal newspaper on Monday. "I am calling for action to help the millions of undocumented people already working in our communities, serving in our military and raising families by granting amnesty," Linderman said in the statement. The Democratic candidate said that all “qualified” immigrants living in the country would be granted amnesty as of July 4, presumably in 2019, if he...

DEVELOPING – President Trump said on Sunday that he would be willing to shut down the federal government if the Democrats do not agree to Republican demands about funding for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump wrote on Twitter that border security "includes the Wall! Must get rid of Lottery, Catch & Release etc. and finally go to system of Immigration based on MERIT! We need great people coming into our Country!" The White House has been embroiled in controversy over the ongoing efforts to reunite families separated at the border who were attempting to enter the United States...

A House panel on Wednesday approved the Homeland Security appropriations bill, which includes $5 billion in funding for President Trump’s controversial border wall......It approved an amendment by Rep. David Price (D-N.C.) pushing back on Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s June decision to deny asylum to victims of domestic abuse and gang violence. “.... those fleeing gang violence and domestic violence would, under certain circumstances, be eligible for a credible fear claim,” Price said, vowing not to let the “draconian measure” stand.

...Yesterday, the House Appropriations Committee, during a markup of the fiscal year 2019 DHS funding bill, voted to block the new USCIS guidance to properly interpret “credible fear” as fear of an individualized persecution by a government. As we noted before, this is the lynchpin of the entire border surge, and unless we properly interpret the law as written, the border surge, drugs, gangs, and all of the fiscal and social ills that come with them will never stop. Yet Rep. Kevin Yoder, R-Kan., — yes, that Kevin Yoder — gave his support to this Democrat amendment, and it passed...

Since 2001, children adopted overseas by American parents automatically become US citizens. Before that, it was up to adoptive parents to take the legal steps to make sure their children became US citizens. But some adoptive children — now well into adulthood — are finding out that their parents never took the steps to make them US citizens. That's the situation Ella Purkiss finds herself in. She was adopted from South Korea in 1956 when she was 2. “My Korean name is Kim Yang Ai,” she says, sitting in her trailer home in Pahrump, Nevada. Her Korean name is about...

C-Fam) Amnesty International will advocate for abortion on-demand as an international human right. A press release on Amnesty’s website describes its new position as calling on States “not just to decriminalize abortion, but to guarantee access to safe and legal abortion in a broad way that fully respects the rights of all women, girls and people who can get pregnant,” an apparent reference to women who identify as men or as transgender. The decision was reached by Amnesty International’s General Assembly in Warsaw earlier this month. During the same session the General Assembly also agreed to advocate for legalization of...

GOP Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) on Friday said that if President Trump isn't prepared to hold Russian President Vladimir Putin "accountable" for aggression toward the U.S. then he should cancel their meeting next week. "President Trump must be willing to confront Putin from a position of strength and demonstrate that there will be a serious price to pay for his ongoing aggression towards the United States and democracies around the world. If President Trump is not prepared to hold Putin accountable, the summit in Helsinki should not move forward," McCain said in a statement.

Twenty-seven conservative leaders signed a statement in support of Lee, including Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah, Conservative Partnership Institute Chairman Jim DeMint, and FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon. “Sen. Lee has a proven record of standing up for principle, for doing the right thing for the right reasons, even in the face of withering criticism,” the letter states. “And that’s what this nominee is in for.” The statement warns the confirmation battle to replace Kennedy is likely to be the “roughest fight Washington has seen in decades,” and notes that a Supreme Court with a conservative majority will...
