HOUSTON --- A security guard at a gun store along the Katy Freeway shot three suspected burglars early Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department. The crime and shooting happened at the Full Armor Firearms in the 11900 block of Katy Freeway. Around 2:07 a.m. the security guard reported an attempted break-in in progress at the store. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — For one police officer in Philadelphia’s 15th District, a report involving a 12-year-old boy armed with an assault rifle will be a call he’ll never forget. Police say 19-year-old Michael Mitchell was armed with a handgun when he was arguing with his neighbor on the 2200 block of Kennedy Street over the weekend. During the altercation, police say Mitchell asked his 12-year-old brother to go grab an assault rifle.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post 4073 in Marshall, Michigan was the site of a class to teach people to build AR-15 rifles. The class had been scheduled for months. This was the third year the popular class was held at the post. Chris Walden of Walden's Firearms taught the class to about 60 participants. Three Oklahoma teenagers were killed last week when they broke into a house and were met by a homeowner with an AR15. Now the grandfather of one of the teenagers is speaking out about his grandson’s death. According to KTUL-TV, Leroy Schumacher, grandfather of 17-year-old Jacob Redfearn, believes the death of Redfearn was unjustified because the homeowner’s AR15 gave him an unfair advantage over the three burglars.
