Concerns of “universal income” grow as President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion relief package gets rid of work requirements for the Child Tax Credit. Experts raise concerns that this could actually hurt, not help, society. Under current law, families with no earnings can’t get the benefits, but as their work earnings increase, so too does the family’s benefits. But Biden’s plan would cut out that requirement. Even families who don’t work could get up to $3,600 per child on top of any other aid they already might be receiving, such as food stamps, Medicaid, and so on.

[snip] Joe and Mika claimed that President Trump's active tweeting in the last 24 hours can be dismissed as an attempt to distract from the letter that Robert Mueller sent to Bill Barr. But the resolute Scarboroughs would not be distracted by that. No! Mika insisted that Trump "can tweet nudes. We don’t care. We’re not looking." Mika then invited Joe to speak to his "friend," whereupon Scarborough looked directly into the camera: "Hey Donald! Donald." Joe first clarified that he could no longer be friends with someone "who wants to be an autocrat." Scarborough then proceeded to suggest that...

MSNBC: the place for praise of Fox News? Hardly! But today's Morning Joe did offer up a surprising dose of praise for Fox News, and criticism of DNC chairman Tom Perez for nixing the notion of the network hosting a Dem presidential debate. The unexpected remarks came in reaction to yesterday's Bernie Sanders town hall on FNC, hosted by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. Mika Brzezinski began the parade of praise, noting that Fox is making an effort to be open to different points of view, "and I think it's great." Noting that FNC had invited a politically-diverse audience to...

Today brings a rare but welcome recognition of reality by Joe Scarborough. On Morning Joe, Scarborough said: “The Democratic party’s darting left . . . And I think you’re going to see the press embracing a lot of these candidates on the far left.” Joe being Joe, he had to balance that with a shot at the president, adding, “you’re going to have Donald Trump race-baiting all the way to the fall.”Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Mortgage Salesmen Whose Tricks Fund Lavish Lifestyle THOUSANDS of hard-up families are being ripped off by ruthless mortgage brokers who've been dubbed the Ferrari Kings because of their lavish lifestyle. Homebuyers have been shafted by as much as £5,000 by firms exploiting their poor credit rating. Hundreds of firms selling so-called sub-prime loans are being probed by the Financial Services Authority. They earned their name in the industry as so many of them own high-powered Italian sports cars. The salesmen prey on vulnerable families with less-than-perfect credit ratings - those who can't (or fear they can't) get a home loan...
