Mrs. jimfree and I had the pleasure of entertaining a small HS junior class for their prom equivalent, a soiree. They were dressed very nicely, but not expensively. All drove in groups or were shuttled by parents. They had dinner and other activities before joining us in their cafeteria for dancing.
We had done a school hours dance workshop for them two weeks earlier so they did okay swing dancing with a simple jitterbug step and some elementary maneuvers as well as some other dance forms (I come from a square dance calling background.)
We had a great time and the 30 or so kids seemed to as well.
Very nicely done. More and more of these analogies are needed. People don’t get complex systems and are too willing to listen to the witch doctor’s explanation of natural phenomena.

Mrs. jimfree drives a 2005 retro design Mustang convertible 5-speed. I’ve referred to it as My Pretty Pony for the 70-year-old woman. Actually she’s 72 and bought it when she was 61. Fun car.

I directed a social activity for a father who lost an adult son. I went to the memorial service and Dad was shocked and surprised and treated me like a person of great import. I directed a social activity he was involved in - that’s all. When people you respect a little bit show up for such things it’s important. When PDJT shows up it must be seven kinds of awesome.
See Oakland California bridge collapse in 1989. Republicans GHWB and Deukmejian got the ball rolling on the rebuilding project slowed by new safety reinforcement standards. Various bridges and other freeway structures not in the immediate collapse were closed and demolished/rebuilt.
Oppo research. Oppo research. Oppo research. It is going somewhere indeed. We have several weak Pubbies who will not see an impeachable offense in mass murder.
We’ve been talking about this in one form or another for a very long time. Jean Harlow and Marie Dressler discuss the possibilities in the 1933 film Dinner at Eight
Kitty : [Final lines] I was reading a book the other day.
Carlotta : [Nearly trips] Reading a book?
Kitty : Yes. It’s all about civilization or something. A nutty kind of a book. Do you know that the guy says that machinery is going to take the place of every profession?
Carlotta : [Looking her over] Oh, my dear, that’s something you need never worry about.
