I’m a teacher. In our county we offered the option of Virual Online or bricks and mortar. Then, some bozo parent started a petition right before school started demanding “remote learning” where students do Zoom with a teacher. I teach Music and have 30 regular classes and 4 remote classes. The remote classes are disaster. About 2/3rds show up but often the kids just wander away and I’m left looking at an empty bedroom, or they bring Fido or Fluffy in to say hello. I’ve been taken on car rides to the store and had to endure a parent off camera who was not on mute and calling her kid every dirty name in the book. Everyone in bricks and mortar are healthy and happy but I hate hate hate remote.
I loved Sainte Chappelle - the only place I ever gasped out-loud at. The rudest tourist ever was an Italian lady at the Louvre who used her infant-occupied stroller to ram and elbow her way to the front of the mob in order to see the Mona Lisa better.
Although I filled the census online they still came to my door. First question: Are you hispanic? I said I was of European-American ancestry and left it at that.
