A man who allegedly started multiple fires in Curry County, Oregon, was reportedly stopped by three law-abiding citizens. Sheriff John Ward said his office received reports of an adult man “walking along the gravel road that leads towards Mariel Lodge and Rogue River Ranch, starting fires.” The suspect was later identified as Trennon Smith of Veneta, Oregon. Ward said he directed his employees to contact multiple other Sheriff’s offices, Coos Forest Patrol, the United States Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service and the Southwest Oregon Department of Forestry. “All mentioned firefighting and law enforcement agencies responded to the...

John Perry Barlow was an eclectic character who led an eclectic life. He began life in a devout Mormon family in Wyoming, found himself writing lyrics for the cult favorite Greatful Dead rock band in his adulthood, and ended life as an outspoken co-founder and contributor to his Cyberspace freedom organization, the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Barlow's health suffered, considerably, in his later life. He faced several "debilitating health conditions" prior to and following a nearly fatal heart attack in May of 2015. His poor health was no secret: In October of 2016, a "Wellness fund" was established in his name...

I remember that citizen arrests were considered legal at one point, but I don't know if they are anymore. And if they are, does that apply to members of Congress when we're clearly seeing them perform acts of treason and sedition? If they are, what is the process? Do we have to have a warrant? Or just approach the subject, inform them they are being arrested for sedition and treason, and then deliver them to the nearest police station?

Two regular guys from Southern Illinois, Kirk Allen and John Kraft, became folk heroes after lawfully “citizen arresting” their park district board. Now, their fight against corruption threatens to shake the political establishment. Illinois’ number one manufactured product is corruption. More than 95 percent of the Illinois legislature is safe in gerrymandered districts. The incumbent governor has three current federal investigations of his administration, but the Attorney General/state’s attorney class can’t find public vice anywhere. So what can the law abiding citizen do? The answer is coming from some regular guys in southern Illinois who decided to hold public officials...

I'm not one for posting vanities, but.... There's a sight I imagined the other day, one that I can't get out of my head -- the idea of a million voters, surging through DC and into the Capitol -- and voters placing their congressmen under arrest for crimes against their constituents. A guy can dream, can't he?

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Thurstle Mullen and his wife Helen Holiday are wondering how a seemingly good deed ended so badly. "It was very alarming to me that my husband was trying to be a Good Samaritan, and be arrested," Holiday said Tuesday. Mullen was charged Monday with three misdemeanors, including assault, after he confronted a suspected drunk driver. "The only regret I have is not stopping him sooner," Mullen said. Mullen claims he followed the man for more than 20 minutes beginning along a stretch of I-40 near Whitten Road. That's where he claims the man struck the concrete...

Arizona rancher Roger Barnett initially faced the possibility of paying $32 million to compensate several illegal immigrants he stopped at gunpoint on his land. He walked away instead with a verdict that rejected any notion he violated the trespassers' civil rights and affirmed that U.S. citizens can still detain aliens crossing the border. What remains to be seen, though, is what impact the $77,800 in damages that a jury Tuesday ordered Mr. Barnett to pay will have on America's larger immigration debate and the efforts of some illegals to get compensation from a country they aren't even allowed to enter....
