Comic Tyler Fischer may not be a household name but his spot-on skewering of liberal news outlets is drawing raves from Twitter users for a brief video in which he hit all the marks in heaping deserved ridicule on shows that are parodies of themselves. The New York City-based actor, stand-up comedian, and viral content creator absolutely nailed it in the short video which he titled “The script of every liberal news outlet” with his perfect vocal delivery and regurgitation of a word salad of leftist talking points that are constantly drilled into the heads of clueless NPR listeners and...

Batman’s first stop is to a rooftop overlooking an electronics store that is being looted with neighboring buildings, some of them appearing to be apartments, being set on fire. The rioters are even shown waving blunt objects in the air. Whitta writes Batman’s interior monologue, “Haven’t seen a night like this in a while. Last time it was this bad was with that damn fear gas in the water supply. Only so much I can do. Need to prioritize. Hunt the big fish. Protect the little fish.” “These places all have insurance. Not my job to protect their profit margins....

Lionsgate's Hellboy made a sly reference to Baba Yaga's history as a threat to the world when the titular paranormal investigator revealed she had previously tried to raise the spirit of Russian dictator Josef Stalin back from the dead. However, the reference was removed in the Russian version of the film. According to the BBC, the Russian release of Hellboy censored the reference to Stalin. The audio was bleeped out, and the subtitles instead indicated that Baba Yaga had previously tried to raise the spirit of German despot Adolf Hitler instead.

Is this 1921 cartoon the first recorded meme? When this comic was posted to Twitter, it caused excitement as people began to wonder if it was the first meme - a format-dependent joke, typically of a picture with a caption or subtitle - ever published. But we've found a version of the joke using the same format printed at least a year earlier in either 1919 or 1920. Both draw from the same template of the 'Expectations vs. Reality' joke, which contrasts two pictures side-by-side with an obvious discrepancy between them. It was subsequently reposted with new captions such as...

She's been charged with bringing the feminist icon Wonder Woman to the big screen for the first time in the character's 75 year history. And Gal Gadot was pictured hard at work on the set of the eagerly-anticipated superhero flick dressed as the Amazonian pin-up's alter-ego Diana Prince in London on Sunday. The Israeli beauty, 30, looked to be portraying the character caught between identities. She dressed head to toe in a vintage outfit circa the First World War while clutching Wonder Woman's sword and shield.

The Colbert Report‘s replacement, The Nightly Show, has only been on the air for two days, but its host Larry Wilmore has already gone after Bill Cosby. As Vulture reported, Wilmore opened last night’s show by addressing the fact that so many people are still doubting the women who are alleging that Cosby drugged and assaulted them, calling out Cosby for embarking on an ill-timed and poorly named comedy tour, and for shushing hecklers with a creepy “Shh…shh…” approach. Wilmore does have a point. It is a really bad idea to send someone in the middle of a high-profile sexual...

Do you like comic books with CBO scores, two-headed alligators and health economist superheroes? Then has Jonathan Gruber got a graphic novel for you!--SNIP--The MIT economist was a key player on both the Massachusetts and national health overhauls. Inspired by his three children, Gruber has distilled all that experience into a 152-page comic book.--SNIP-- the superhero version of Jonathan spends a decent amount of time warding off rumors of death panels and government health-care takeovers, in the form of zombies and vampires.
