A House Committee is expected to launch an investigation into a United Nations agency that provides aid to Palestinians for alleged ties to Hamas, according to a report. The House Foreign Affairs Committee is planning to investigate the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees in the Near East, which is also known as UNRWA, according to the New York Post. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., told the outlet that there's evidence of a connection between the UN agency and Hamas. "There is extensive evidence of a troubling connection between UNRWA and Hamas, and it is far deeper than...

The House of Representatives voted to kill a resolution to censure progressive Rep. Rashida Tlaib, R-Mich., on Wednesday night. Nearly two dozen Republicans voted along with all House Democrats to table the resolution in a final vote of 222 to 186 in favor of killing the motion without debate. Democrats briefly broke out into applause when the resolution failed.

The House GOP’s long and embarrassing nightmare is over. Or has it just taken a pause? After more than a week of leadership battles and a moribund House, the Republican caucus nominated Steve Scalise as the next Speaker of the House. It was not by acclamation, needless to say:House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is the GOP’s next pick for speaker. The Louisiana Republican defeated Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) in a secret-ballot vote on Wednesday, securing a simple majority of the GOP conference. The 113-99 vote count came from Rep. Darrell Issa, although it is not yet official. The split raises the...

We've done several posts on President Joe Biden repeating the lie that his son Beau was killed in Iraq. You'd think he'd lie about something that wasn't so easy to fact-check, but Biden's the consummate politician: If he's talking to a crowd of veterans, he's going to relate to them by telling them about his son's death overseas. Things got ugly this week at a forum for Gold Star families whose family members were killed in the suicide bombing at the Kabul airport during Biden's botched evacuation from Afghanistan. Mothers recalled how Biden told them that he knew how they...

As Twitchy reported earlier, Rep. Darrell Issa had a forum in California Monday featuring Gold Star families who lost their loved ones in the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. The parents had plenty to say to President Joe Biden, who ended up calling the withdrawal a "success." Thirteen U.S. servicemembers died as the result of a suicide bomber who targeted the airport where people were crowded together in a desperate attempt to get out of the country before the Taliban took over. I really despise Joe Biden. I don't buy into his "grandfatherly" image at all. He flew off the handle...

House Republicans are debating whether to focus impeachment efforts on Attorney General Merrick Garland after Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) suggested an inquiry against him, taking some members by surprise after much of the GOP impeachment furor had been directed at other Biden officials. In a year where the GOP has been most steadily focused on possible impeachments of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas or President Biden, McCarthy often has been the voice urging the conference to move patiently and deliberately. But he has shown more vigor when eyeing Garland, an official leading an agency often derided by the GOP but...

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), who is currently on a bipartisan congressional trip in Europe, issued a scathing rebuke of President Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine on Monday, describing the visit as a “strategic failure.” Issa, a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee who has served in Congress for two decades, made the statement while in neighboring Poland. “President Biden was right to make his trip to Ukraine. And we recognize the hundreds of American officials who worked long and hard to make this a secure visit,” Issa said. “But while today was a logistical success, it was a...

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who serves on House Foreign Affairs Committee, was, to say the least, unimpressed by the Biden administration’s classified briefing on the China spy balloon and blasted the briefing as “unspecific, insufficient, and backward-looking.” Senior administration officials conducted the briefing in a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF). Not only did the briefing fail to provide adequate information on the spy balloon that was shot down, but no evidence of Chinese spy balloons taking place during the Trump administration was presented. “What I took away from this briefing confirmed that this administration and not the previous one had...

The special counsel named by the Biden administration to investigate Donald Trump oversaw a Justice Department unit rebuked by the Supreme Court for its prosecution of a prominent Republican and was linked by Congress to the IRS scandal that targeted conservative groups. Jack Smith, a war crimes prosecutor in The Hague and former chief of the DOJ public integrity section, was named Friday by Attorney General Merrick Garland to take over two investigations of Trump related to Jan. 6 and classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago. In 2014, the House Oversight Committee concluded that during Smith's earlier stint at DOJ he...

A letter on Hunter Biden’s infamous abandoned laptop shows the Biden family pursuing a deal with Qatar, undermining the Trump Administration and appearing like an effort at a shadow foreign policy. The letter — retrieved from the “Laptop from Hell” by Congressman Darrell Issa’s (R-CA) office after being in a previously unreadable format — shows James Biden, President Biden’s brother, making an overture to an associate of Qatari Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Al Thani. They say, “my family could provide a wealth of introductions and business opportunities at the highest levels,” despite unfavorable policies of the “fractured” and “beleaguered” then-Trump...

The White House has been put “on notice” and ordered not to “delete or destroy any evidence of your coordination and collusion in the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.” Republicans are preparing to launch investigations into Hunter Biden and several top Biden administration officials if the GOP wins back control of the House after the midterms. Congressional GOP lawmakers are preparing now for the probes so they can hit the ground running after the elections. In anticipation, Republicans are warning the White House not to destroy any evidence that relates to the widespread cover-up of Hunter Biden’s “Laptop from Hell” scandal....

Even as Moscow invades Ukraine, the Biden administration is relying on Russia to solidify a revamped nuclear agreement with Iran, a deal that senior Republican foreign policy leaders say will be approved in the coming days without any input from Congress. As Russian forces press further into Ukraine, threatening to spark a world war, the Biden administration is rushing to finalize a Russia-brokered nuclear deal with Iran, Rep. Michael McCaul (R., Texas), the lead Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told the Washington Free Beacon. "Russia's further invasion of Ukraine is reprehensible, but we can't lose sight of the...

A poll released Tuesday shows Republican Darrell Issa leading Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar by double digits in the race for the 50th Congressional District. Other polls conducted in September, July, and May had Issa and Campa-Najjar in statistical ties to represent most of East County, parts of inland North San Diego County and a small southern piece of Riverside County. The new San Diego Union-Tribune/10 News poll of 538 likely voters shows Issa, a former congressman, leading with 51 percent of the vote of those polled, far ahead of business owner and San Diego State University lecturer Campa-Najjar, who polled at...

Former Rep. Darrell Issa and conservative group Judicial Watch are challenging California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s executive order for an all mail-in ballot election. Judicial Watch filed the suit in a Sacramento district court Thursday on behalf of Issa to block Newsom’s order, which would send absentee ballots to all registered voters, Politico reported. Issa is running for former Rep. Duncan Hunter’s seat in the wake of his resignation. California is the first state this year to move to an all vote-by-mail election because of the coronavirus. While Democrats lauded the executive order, Republicans have raised concerns over voter fraud.

For nearly four years the FBI investigated the international theft of STEALTH defense technology from a small Florida marine company that invented an ingenious way to help protect Navy ships and nuclear ballistic submarines from being detected on enemy radar and sonar. And on the eve before the case was go to a Grand Jury, the case was closed by then-FBI Director Robert Mueller and then-Attorney General Eric Holder. “This was the original pay-to-play scheme and it involves Mueller, Holder, (James) Comey and (Hillary) Clinton,” said Steve Morton, inventor and owner of a rare robotic ship and submarine stealth painting...

House Republicans grilled former FBI lawyer Lisa Page behind closed doors on Monday as they sought to make the case that bias influenced the bureau’s investigations of President Trump and Hillary Clinton. It was the second day of a grueling interview for Page, whose emails and text messages with FBI agent Peter Strzok have been cited by GOP lawmakers as suggesting the FBI was biased against the Republican presidential candidate. Lawmakers from the House Judiciary and House Oversight and Government Reform committees remained mostly tight-lipped on the details of her testimony, though multiple Republicans praised her as cooperative and forthcoming....

Democrats are locked in a battle to replace retiring Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), with no clear front-runner in what has become the most expensive House race in the country. More than a dozen candidates from both parties are competing for the seat in California’s “jungle” primary on Tuesday, where the top two vote-getters, regardless of party affiliation, advance to the general election in the fall. Issa, the outspoken former House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman, represents one of three GOP-held districts in the state where a split electorate could give Republicans a shot at advancing a pair of candidates...

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 3-1 to support the Trump administration’s lawsuit against California over laws that the state passed last year to limit its role in immigration enforcement. The county will file an amicus brief at the first available opportunity, likely on appeal, said Kristin Gaspar, supervisor for District 3 and chairwoman of the board. “We’re talking about people who are crossing the border illegally, coming into this county and committing a crime and them being let loose probably to commit another crime,” said Dianne Jacobs, supervisor for District 2. “That creates a public safety issue...
