This past week, America said its final goodbye to Sandra Day O’Connor. The first woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court was eulogized at Washington National Cathedral by President Joe Biden and Chief Justice John Roberts. Justice O’Connor was appointed in 1981 by my father, served nearly a quarter century and died Dec. 1 at age 93. As Chief Justice John Roberts said, she was “a strong, influential, iconic jurist. Her leadership shaped the legal profession, making it obvious that judges are both women and men.” Most people know about Justice O’Connor making history as the first woman justice.

Chris Christie joked over the weekend about Donald Trump giving him COVID after Mark Meadows' new book revealed the former president knew he had the virus before his first debate with Joe Biden. 'I joke about Donald. But, I'm still really proud to have provided some help to his administration,' Christie said during a comedy speech at the Gridiron Club on Saturday, according to a recording obtained by Politico. 'I mean, I gave Donald Trump my undying loyalty, and as we learned this week, he definitely gave me COVID,' continued the former New Jersey governor who served as a top...

As a tornado tore his Joplin, Mo., home apart, Don Lansaw did what came naturally: He threw himself on top of his wife Bethany to protect her. And in doing so, he gave his life for her. Lansaw's is just one of several tales of heroism, heartbreak, and amazing escapes that have emerged from the spate of violent weather events that swept the center of the country this week. As many as 125 people are thought to have been killed by the Joplin tornado alone. "The house was ripping apart, it all happened so fast," Bethany Lansaw told NBC News....

Eager donors go overboard for ClintonNew York Daily News WASHINGTON — There is no such thing as an embarrassment of riches in politics, but this comes close. **SNIP** The New York Daily News found in a review of Federal Election Commission records that the FEC has sent Clinton’s campaign committee, Friends of Hillary, a letter demanding that it deal with 39 donors who gave her too much in the past quarter, when the campaign raked in $6 million. The most common error is that donors gave her more than allowed for either the primary or general election — $2,100 is...

What's become of bin Laden since he gave us all the slip? By Anton La Guardia, Diplomatic Editor (Filed: 01/11/2005) Some think he is dead, others that he is hiding because he is scared of being killed. Whatever the reason for the strange disappearance of Osama bin Laden, not seen alive since his last mocking video statement a year ago, he is no longer the face of the global "jihad" against the West. The face of al-Qa'eda: Ayman al-Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian responsible for some of the worst atrocities in Iraq, has become the...

The purpose of FreeRepublic.com's multiple message boards is to limit the topics for each board to particular topics. Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE! DO THE READERS A FAVOR. STOP CROSS-POSTING YOUR MESSAGES!
