Some of the confusion and fog surrounding the fatal bear attack and failure of bear spray in Wyoming has cleared. The investigators have done their job, and much was learned from the evidence on the ground. The attack occurred on Friday afternoon, the 14th of September, in the Teton Wilderness in Wyoming, near Terrace Mountain. The hunter, Corey Chubon, and Mark Uptain, the guide, had almost finished processing the 4×4 elk. Mark Uptain, the guide, was attacked first, as he was cutting off the elk's head.  The 250-pound sow grizzly gave no warning. She was first seen in an...

On morning of 25 July, 2018, Bridger Petrini was keeping his dogs in shape for the upcoming bear season in New Mexico, near the Colorado border. Petrini purchased his professional guide service eight years ago, from his father, who started it in 1985.  The bear season would open in less than three weeks, and the dogs had to be in shape for it.  He had made some important appointments in Raton, the nearest town, for the afternoon. He was within a quarter mile of the house, when the dogs unexpectedly found a bear and took off. He and the...

Two police departments in Michigan are trading in police guns for new ones. The Valparaiso police department is trading in .40 caliber Glocks that are a few years old for 9mm Glocks that are new. The trades should happen this year, in 2018. The public often look to police for firearms expertise. Unfortunately, some police feel the need to demonstrate their lack of knowledge.  When asked about a trade-in of Glocks, Sergeant Michael Grennes is reported as giving this response. From nwitimes.com: The difference between the 9mm and the .40-caliber guns, he explained, is one of cartridge ignition pressures....

Authorities said Brian Sebring, 44, shot Alex Stephens, 46, after their political argument became too heated, the Tampa Bay Times reported. Sebring is a registered Democrat, the report said, while Stephens, a former felon, has no party affiliation, the report said, citing corrections records. "After receiving several explicit messages and threats, the defendant responded to the victim’s home to confront him in reference to the messages," a police official said, according to the Times.

The Glock 19X has received a lot of hate from the concealed carry community who wanted a Glock 17 slide on a Glock 19 frame. My guess is that they may have their wish later on, but for now, the 19X is a problem solver for a different customer. Daniel Shaw of GunMag Warehouse discuss with Jeremy Strafford of Guns & Ammo Magazine about this hate. The focus of the conversation is really about who this gun was design for. For starters there isn't any problem with the 19X according to Jeremy. (who is also an LE officer) Even though...

The rifle used by Devin Kelley was the Ruger AR-556, Texas Department of Public Safety Regional Director Freeman Martin said in a news conference. The AR-15 is more of a category than a specific weapon. It is known for being customizable, with hundreds of variants, each with its own characteristics. On the morning of June 8th, 2017, I was openly carrying a Glock 17 in a Fobus retention holster. I had to get some medical tests done. I did not have any problem where I had blood drawn. There were no "gun free zone" signs on the door. Next I went to the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) to get a chest X-ray.  It serves as a place to have medical tests done for the entire area. It is part of the Yuma hospital complex.  They have banned guns on their facility ever since the concealed carry shall issue...

If you're into short barrel and Glocks then you may want to get a modifying kit for the Glock. CAA has a conversion kit that converts your Glock into a carbine. (sort of) Its aluminum and polymer RONI unit doesn't add any barrel length, the pistol is encapsulated, has an adjustable stock with cheekplate, a vertical foregrip and has lots of rail space for optics and a tactical light. Buttstock has the ability to store an extra magazine. What do you all think, is it worth getting one? See the Micro Roni footage here.

Like most members of law enforcement, Lynn Koch dreads the day he has to draw his service weapon. Even if to protect his own life, it can mean death to another person. But on a cold winter day Koch, a Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks game warden, drew his .45 Glock to save the lives of two animals, and ensure the safety of another game warden and his own. “I have a lariat in my pickup, but knew there was no way to use it without one of us maybe getting hurt,” Koch said of when he and fellow...
