Two suspects are on the loose this evening following a reported robbery at a downtown Palm Springs jewelry store where shots were fired. Witnesses reported two men entered the shop, located on the 190 block of South Palm Canyon, armed with hammers, apparently attempting to rob the store Tuesday afternoon. An employee of the store reportedly fired a gun during the incident and the suspects fled on foot.

An explosion shook the largely deserted streets of downtown Nashville early Christmas morning, shattering windows, damaging buildings and wounding three people. SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - North and South Korean troops exchanged fire along their tense border on Sunday, the South’s military said, blaming North Korean soldiers for targeting a guard post. A man visiting Busch Gardens Tampa Bay was injured by celebratory gunfire on Wednesday. According to Tampa police, 36-year-old Scott Deel of Florahome, Florida was walking inside the theme park with his wife when he felt pain in his shoulder around 10 p.m. His wife then noticed he was bleeding. A man has reportedly been shot by police after hitting a police officer in the head with a meat cleaver near Macy's flagship store in New York. Police had been called out to deal with a cleaver-wielding attacker in Manhattan's Koreatown; the man refused to drop the weapon and the officers gave chase when he fled, police said.
