For years, California Democrats have been hostile to gun owners. California Democrats frequently attempt to erode Second Amendment rights in the state. A bill in the Democrat-controlled California State Assembly that was introduced on February 16th, would force homeowners and renters to disclose information about firearms they own. Assembly member Mike Gipson, and State Senator Catherine Blakespear are the two leading California Democrat lawmakers pushing this legislation.

Republican lawmakers and gun rights groups blasted the Biden administration over a new rule that tightens regulations on pistol stabilizing braces. The Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives (ATF) finalized a new regulation Friday that will treat guns with stabilizing accessories like short-barreled rifles, which require a federal license to own under the National Firearms Act. The move is part of a comprehensive gun crime strategy President Biden announced in April 2021, in response to the massacre at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, where a gunman using a stabilizing brace killed 10 people. A stabilizing brace was also...

Signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom last September, Assembly Bill 173 amended state firearms laws to allow California to turn over gun owners’ personal information to gun violence researchers. Finding there was no “emergency” to warrant restraining California from sharing millions of gun owners’ personal information with gun violence researchers, a federal judge Wednesday declined to block the state’s enactment of Assembly Bill 173.U.S. District Judge Larry Alan Burns heard from attorneys for Jane and John Does and Attorney General Rob Bonta regarding a constitutional challenge to Assembly Bill 173, a law which amended California firearms laws to authorize...

Yesterday evening and this morning, we sent you two URGENT action alerts. And you all responded marvelously. The team here at GOA is so grateful for all of you who took action. Your loud voice makes it known to legislators on Capitol Hill that people back at home are truly watching what they’re doing. Yesterday our team in Washington, D.C., learned that anti-gunners in the Senate were trying to pass Universal Background Checks without a single senator voting. So-called Universal Background Checks are only enforceable if the government has a registry to check if a gun belongs to a gun...

On 16 August 2021, in the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, Judge J. Michael Seabright granted a motion for summary judgment for the plaintiffs. The two disputed parts of the State of Hawaii’s registration law are unconstitutional in violation of the Second Amendment. From the decision: HRS § 134-2(e)’s requirement that “[p]ermits issued to acquire any pistol or revolver shall be void unless used within ten days after the date of issue” is declared unconstitutional in violation of the Second Amendment. Defendant’s officers, agents, servants, employees, and all persons in active concert or participation with Defendant...

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was applauded by some of her fellow GOP lawmakers for a House floor speech decrying a gun control bill.

Neither is going to happen.Joe Biden’s gun-control plans have about zero chance of getting through Congress, especially if Republicans win at least one of the Georgia runoffs. That’s good, because his bright idea for restricting “assault weapons” would force America’s gun owners to choose between (a) giving up millions of their firearms and magazines to a federal “buyback” and (b) registering those guns with the federal government, paying billions of dollars in taxes for the privilege.Any guesses as to how that would play out in this country? As many readers may be old enough to remember, America had a ban on...

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an impassioned speech about gun violence Friday in announcing a ban on 1,500 types of firearms. While Trudeau’s speech carried emotional weight, there is one glaring problem with the ban’s implementation — how can the nation’s government ensure citizens turn over their now-banned weapons when there is no way to know exactly how many such firearms are in circulation? “Effective immediately, it is no longer permitted to buy, sell, transport, import or use military-grade assault weapons in this country,” Trudeau declared, even though police believe the weapons used in the Nova Scotia attack were...

But the most delightful of this Warren smorgasbord might just be her mandatory gun licensing provision. It’s the kind of thing that not only stands as a towering infringement of the right to keep and bear arms which the Second Amendment was supposed to stop people like her attacking, it will put everyone who buys a firearm on government list. This is a registry.

New Zealand Gun Control New Zealand –-(Ammoland.com)- New Zealand has had relatively moderate firearms restrictions for most of its existence. As an extremely peaceful nation that evolved from the conflict between a collection of warring, cannibalistic tribes and the British Empire, it is a very successful nation. From 200 years ago to the 1990s, it was dominated by farmers and hunters. New Zealand has a proud tradition of military prowess on both the Maori and British sides of its ancestry. The English pioneered the concept of individual rights in the modern era. Those rights were transferred to settlers in the English...

In New Zealand, the far-left government has decided a national gun registry is necessary. They have been unsuccessful in confiscating (with payment) most of the previously legally owned semi-automatic rifles in the country. There has been massive civil disobedience among New Zealand gun owners. The party line of the leftist government is there is no right to own guns in New Zealand. They cannot be entirely sure of that, because part of the new gun control scheme is to place into law the premise that there is no legal right to arms for New Zealanders. From npr.org: New Zealand's...

The holy grail of those who wish us disarmed is gun registration. Once your guns are required to be registered, they are, in effect, already confiscated. A little thought will reveal to you why this is so.The Government will know who has legal possession of each firearm. They will know where the firearm is stored. When physical possession of the gun is desired, they can order you to turn it in. This has happened repeatedly. The historical examples include NAZI Germany, Soviet Russia, Red China, and Cambodia. Recent examples include Kosovo, Great Britain, Australia, New York, and California. Not...

Pennsylvania Democrats want to register your guns. On March 15, state House Representatives Angel Cruz (D-Philadelphia), Mary Isaacson (D-Philadelphia) and Mary Jo Daley (D-Montgomery) proposed the Firearms Registration Act, from which only antiques and guns owned by law enforcement would be exempt. Gov. Tom Wolf strongly supports the bill. “The bill would require Pennsylvanians seeking to do anything with a gun, whether that be own, possess, sell or transfer, to apply for gun registration through State Police,” said Cruz. “This (Pennsylvania State Police) database will aid all law enforcement officials with investigations and with tracking missing or stolen firearms.” State...

Unconstitutional: Whenever we see the Left moving to implement a new rule or law governing the use, handling, or ownership of firearms we are reminded of the very simple language of the Second Amendment, which reads in full: A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Liberal and conservative scholars and lawmakers have debated the meaning of “militia” and whether or not the founders meant that the Second Amendment applied only to organized state military forces. But others have noted that based...

This race probably won’t draw too much national attention, but New York’s 23rd Congressional District has revealed a rather interesting election strategy by the Democrat who is attempting to unseat Republican Tom Reed. (Disclosure: I campaigned with Reed a couple of times in 2010 and 2012 but never worked for him.) The Dems selected Dr. Tracy Mitrano, a professor of law and communications, in the primary this summer. It was a crowded primary field and everyone had to stake out their progressive bona fides early on. As part of that effort, Mitrano went on record saying that she supported a...

Last month, April, 2018, the California Department of Justice raided prominent Kern County Farmer, Jeffrey Scott Kirschenmann. The justification for the raid was pictures the farmer had sent to the Department of Justice in an attempt to register a rifle. The DOJ claimed the rifle was an illegally modified “Assault weapon”. During the raid, the DOJ confiscated 230 rounds of ammunition, a dozen guns, two objects claimed to be “silencers”, and some sort of trigger activator. There is reason to be wary of the accuracy of the claims of what was found during the raid. California law is very complex....

Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- In the above chart, the numbers are unclear. Is it 14,542 registered guns, or licensed gun owners in Tamworth, NSW, Australia? Is the increase since 2010 in registered guns, or licensed gun owners? The number of legal guns and likely, licensed gun owners, is increasing in Australia. It is difficult to know exactly how much it is increasing because statistics are not well kept. National statistics are uncertain because of differences in state systems. From an article in abc.net.au from 2011: Today, that national system is in a mess. No federal agencies or crime researchers were able to tell the...

There was a recent domestic shooting in Maryland. The presumed perpetrator was a federal law enforcement officer. He is reported to have killed his estranged wife and two other people. His wife had a protective order against him in March, and the Federal Protective Service, of which Mr. Tordil was a member, took his service firearm and seven other firearms. This was in Maryland, which requires handguns to be registered. From the washingtonpost.com: Sheriff’s deputies can’t be faulted for not knowing about that gun because, thanks to the national gun lobby and the cowardice of Congress, there is no...

Looking for some comic relief after President Obama's teary announcement of new executive orders on gun control, and Chris Matthews' fawning interview of Hillary Clinton? You've come to the right place. On this evening's O'Reilly Factor, Dem strategist Nomiki Konst claimed that forcing law-abiding Americans to register their guns would stop the "majority" of mass shootings. You're killing me, Nomiki—you should excuse the expression. View the video here.

An ambitious plan by Maryland to catalog the “fingerprint†of every gun sold in the state -- making dealers fire a shot and send in the spent casing -- is being scrapped, literally. State authorities have conceded that the bullet ID program, enacted in 2000, cost $5 million, was plagued by technical problems and did not solve a single crime. Now, the 300,000 shell casings, one from every handgun sold in the state since the law took effect, will now be sold for scrap metal. "Obviously, I'm disappointed," former Maryland Gov. Parris Glendening, whose administration pushed for the database, told...
