JANESVILLE, Wis. (WCMH)–Witnesses say a teenage protester was sprayed in the face with mace during a Donald Trump rally in Wisconsin after she threw a punch. NBC News reporter Shaquille Brewster says the girl “was maced in the face after pushing back a person she says touched her chest inappropriately.” The Austin American-Statesman identified the girl as 15-year-old Alex Drake. Wisconsin State Journal reporter Molly Beck captured the moment Drake was maced. Beck also posted video of the altercation, which contains explicit language but shows more of the altercation.

Patriotic Bikers, from all across the United States are planning to show up at ALL future TRUMP rallies to make sure that any paid agitator protesters don’t take away Mr. Trump’s right to speak. Or interfere with the rights of Trump supporters to safely attend. WE SHALL NOT BE SILENCED! Nichole Mittness thought about 100 people would respond to a Facebook page inviting a protest of Donald Trump’s Janesville appearance. As of midday Saturday, 1,200 had pledged to be there, and Mittness figured that meant 1,000 or so would show up on Tuesday. “It’s really overwhelming. I was not anticipating...

Alecia and Bounkham Phonesavanh never imagined their family would be at the center of a controversy over the militarization of police. But that’s exactly where they found themselves when their toddler was seriously injured by a SWAT team, also leaving them with a $1 million medical bill they have no hope of paying. “They messed up,” Alecia Phonesavanh told ABC News' "20/20." “They had a faulty search warrant. They raided the wrong house.” In the spring of 2014, the Phonesavanh’s home in Janesville, Wisconsin, was destroyed by fire. Homeless with four young children, they packed one of their last remaining...

Madison — Felon and former state Sen. Gary George will be able to mount his long-shot primary challenge to U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore after all. The state elections board voted unanimously to reject a challenge to George's nomination signatures and allow him on the ballot to challenge fellow Democrat Moore for Congress. The Government Accountability Board met at the Capitol on Tuesday to certify candidates for the Aug. 12 ballot. Milwaukee union official Sheila Cochran had challenged hundreds of the signatures George submitted on his nomination papers, saying they were collected by convicted felons, among other problems. Board staff said,...

The feedback continues, with a bunch of military veterans and family members asking me how I could defend the callous COLA cuts to military pensions by way of explaining why Congress is trying to undo them. Another reader email: I strenuously object to being asked to sacrifice any more! I risked my life in two deployments to war zones, sacrificed my health (I'm also a disabled veteran), and jeopardized my relationship with my family for my country. I find Congress' latest demand a kick in the gut. We veterans and retirees have sacrificed enough without having to endure the...

“The dogs were unleashed, left their owner's property and charged toward the man, who retreated into his garage,” according to the press release. “The man felt threatened by the dogs and shot them both. One dog was found deceased in the garage while the other fled back to its owner and was taken to a veternarian.” The release continues: “All shots were fired within the resident's single-car garage, where the resident was cornered. The evidence in the case supports the resident's story.”

An interesting glimpse at Paul Ryan’s wife, from the Washington Post: Janna Ryan, wife of Republican vice presidential pick Rep. Paul Ryan, is the poster girl for Generation X women who wanted to have it all.Ryan, 43, like many of her 40-something peers, is a stay-at-home mother with an impressive resume. She prefers her husband’s hometown, Janesville, Wis., to Washington and remains out of the political limelight. But Janna Christine Little Ryan hails from Oklahoma, a state known for its Will Rogers’s common-sense ideals mixed with a smidgen of Wild West attitude. She grew up Madill, Okla., in the southern part of...

Last week, I wrote extensively about the risible and embarrassing "fact checks" applied to Paul Ryan's convention speech regarding his recollection of Barack Obama's promise to Janesville to keep the plant open for another hundred years, but Phil Kerpen has managed to dig up the video of the event. Read my earlier post to refresh your memory of that media failure, and then watch Obama do exactly what Ryan said he did --- tell the people at the GM plant in Janesville that his plan would usher in a clean-energy economy that would keep the plant slated for shuttering open...

From Paul Ryan’s convention speech yesterday: >>>President Barack Obama came to office during an economic crisis, as he has reminded us a time or two. Those were very tough days, and any fair measure of his record has to take that into account. My home state voted for President Obama. When he talked about change, many people liked the sound of it, especially in Janesville, where we were about to lose a major factory. A lot of guys I went to high school with worked at that GM plant. Right there at that plant, candidate Obama said: “I believe that...

JANESVILLE — Interest in firearms, fueled partly by Wisconsin’s new concealed-carry law, prompted a thousand gun enthusiasts to the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds in Janesville on Saturday for the Rock County Rifle and Pistol Club gun show. “Interest has definitely picked up, and I’m sure the new concealed-carry law has something to do with it,” said the club’s president, Joe LeBeau of Janesville. “We see increased interest in firearms and an increase in our membership.” LeBeau answered questions about the club Saturday while signing up new club members. He said the club now has about 360 members including adult men...
