  • Texas Democrat Trashes Ocasio-Cortez And Her Crew: They're Not Democrats…They’re Socialists

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) assured CBS’ Gayle King that there was no fundamental fracture within the Democratic Party. Who is she kidding? Honestly, congresswoman, the bad news for you is that the entire country isn’t on drugs, so no one will believe such an absurd comment. You just accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of racism, of saddling you with so much work through your committees in order to keep you out of the spotlight. Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) said at Netroots Nation over the weekend that any black, Hispanic, or LGBT lawmakers who side with Pelosi are pretty much race...

A band of Democrats who are demanding House rule reforms have yet to reach a deal with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the group announced Friday, putting up a potential roadblock in Pelosi’s quest to reclaim the Speaker’s gavel. Nine Democrats on the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus have vowed to withhold their votes for Speaker unless the candidate agrees to overhaul the House rules. Pelosi, who has been open to such changes, met with the group last week and promised to put in writing the changes to which she would commit. But the Democrats say they have yet to receive...
  • Heng Gets Facebook Blocked (California R candidate)

Elizabeth Heng nearly beat incumbent Democratic congressman Jim Costa in California’s open primaries in early June. The 53–47 outcome would have made her the darling of the national political media, had she been a Democrat. She will face Costa again in the general election in November. My colleague Alexandra DeSanctis wrote an excellent piece last month profiling the young, smart, 33-year-old Republican contender. So this happened yesterday. Heng’s campaign had tried to place this video as an ad on Facebook. It begins with her family’s roots — amidst the horror of Cambodian genocide. The long-shot candidate for Congress has increased his lead over incumbent Democrat Jim Costa. The latest numbers give Republican Johnny Tacherra a boost. It's still a 50-50 split, but with the latest figures from Merced County, Tacherra now leads Costa by 741 votes, out of more than 80,000 votes counted so far. Tacherra led Costa by 736 votes on election night. However, thousands of votes in Fresno, Merced and Madera counties remain to be counted.
  • 2 California Democrats declare victory

Democratic Rep. Jim Costa has declared victory in his race against Republican challenger Andy Vidak. New vote tallies from Fresno County put Costa 1,200 votes ahead of Vidak — Costa was losing to Vidak Tuesday by 145 votes — and his campaign believes his lead will continue to increase as the final absentee ballots are counted. “This has been a hard-fought campaign. It appears that it is now over. I believe our 1,200-vote margin will not only stand up, but will increase as the remaining few ballots are counted,” Costa said in a statement Wednesday evening.

Obama: Water for Votes and Other Atrocities Obama has now joined the likes of all other despots who have ever walked and practiced their tyrannies upon planet Earth. Tyrants like Sadaam Hussein, Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, Robert Mugabe, Kim Jong-il and Fidel Castro are now unequivocally united with the US Usurper and Dictator-in-Chief Barack Hussein Obama in their complete and total subjugation of their countries peoples.Obama turned off the spigots in California’s Central Valley in order to destroy crops, fruit trees, farmers’ livelihoods etc. in that once extremely fertile and productive area and to give him a large hammer to...
  • Buying Votes With Water

Politics: The water spigots are back on, at least temporarily, in California's Central Valley. Turned off to protect a tiny fish, they happen to be in the districts of two congressmen "undecided" on health care reform. One could chalk it up to good fortune or just good constituent service. But in the middle of a contentious health care debate marked by Cornhusker Kickbacks and Louisiana Purchases, we may be forgiven if we find an announcement by the Department of the Interior regarding California's water supply a tad too coincidental. On Tuesday, the Department of the Interior announced it was increasing...

House Democrats passed the 2,032-page Pelosicare bill on a near party-line vote Saturday night 220-215 (roll call here). The only Republican voting in favor of the measure was New Orleans-based Joseph Cao who has long ago proven to be a tax and spend (and spend and spend) liberal. After a week of intense arm twisting, threats and promises from party leaders, more than half of the 52 so-called conservative Blue Dog Democrats voted in favor of the over $1.3 trillion measure. These are the 28 Blue Dogs voting in favor of Pelosicare (who apparently fear the wrath of House Speaker...
