A federal jury awarded Republican Roy Moore $8.2 million in damages Friday after finding that a Democratic super PAC defamed him in an advertisement during the 2017 U.S. Senate race in Alabama. Conservative Roy Moore had won the Senate primary. Democrats then set out to destroy his candidacy. Jurors found the Senate Majority PAC made false and defamatory statements against Moore in the ad that attempted to capitalize on a sexual misconduct accusation made against Moore during the 2017 race, Yahoo News reports.

Republican Roy Moore is still not conceding defeat in Alabama’s special election for a U.S. Senate seat -- 24 hours after Democrat Doug Jones claimed victory. In a video posted to YouTube on Wednesday evening, Moore says his campaign is still waiting for the election results to be certified by the Alabama secretary of state. Moore notes in the video that military and provisional ballots remained to be counted. Election results showed that Jones defeated Moore by 49.9 percent to 48.4 percent. In most of the remainder of the nearly five-minute-long video, Moore thanks supporters and then lists numerous ills...

The top Senate Republican campaign official said Monday that the Senate should move to expel Roy Moore should he manage to win the special election next week for senator from Alabama. “I believe the individuals speaking out against Roy Moore spoke with courage and truth, proving he is unfit to serve in the United States Senate and he should not run for office,” said Sen. Cory Gardner, Colorado Republican. “If he refuses to withdraw and wins, the Senate should vote to expel him, because he does not meet the ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate.” It’s the...

Republicans are exploring ways to get embattled Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore’s name off the ballot, including floating the possibility of changing the date of next month’s special election in the wake of years-old allegations of sexual misconduct against Moore. Some party members are reportedly considering getting Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) to move the date of the Dec. 12 special election to early next year, according to The New York Times. Based on Alabama law, it’s too late to remove Moore’s name from the ballot this close to Election Day. Moore, a former state Supreme Court chief justice,...

Leigh Corfman says she was 14 years old when an older man approached her outside a courtroom in Etowah County, Ala. She was sitting on a wooden bench with her mother, they both recall, when the man introduced himself as Roy Moore. It was early 1979 and Moore — now the Republican nominee in Alabama for a U.S. Senate seat — was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney. He struck up a conversation, Corfman and her mother say, and offered to watch the girl while her mother went inside for a child custody hearing. “He said, ‘Oh, you don’t want her...

For the first eight months of his presidency, Donald Trump has been continually thwarted by a combination of the left-wing media, the “deep state” bureaucracy, the Democrats and the establishment Republicans. On his own, President Trump has made dramatic and positive executive orders, but his legislative accomplishments have been disappointing due to the powerful forces arrayed against him. Theoretically, the President should have been able to achieve all of his goals because the Republicans control all branches of government. Regrettably, the uncooperative congressional leadership has not produced any major victories for the President or his 63 million supporters. In essence,...

CNN is lamenting the fact that GOP frontrunner for the U.S. Senate in Alabama Judge Roy Moore told pastors and Christians in a speech last month that shootings and killings in American society are the result of removing God from schools. Andrew Kaczynski’s KFile on CNN dug up a video of Moore from late August speaking at Citizen Impact USA, making the comments that have CNN and the GOP establishment in Washington similarly freaked out. “We are losing the acknowledgement of God and I’m standing here talking to Christians and pastors and I’m telling you we’re losing the acknowledgement of...

Becky Gerritson, the president of the Wetumpka Tea Party in Wetumpka, Alabama, just outside Montgomery here, has a message for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s PAC Senate Leadership Fund: Stop deceptively editing videos to attack conservative Judge Roy Moore. Last week, Senate Leadership Fund was caught splicing together videos from two separate events in an out of context manner—in other words deceptively editing videos—to make it appear as though Judge Moore does not support President Donald Trump’s planned border wall. Not just Breitbart News, but PolitiFact too, has called out the McConnell-affiliated organization for the attack ads. Of course, such...

This is a typical “Tea Party” story you might have heard from 2010, and indicative of the GOP’s failed attempts to kill the Trump movement. Roy Moore appears set to steamroll Mitch McConnell-backed Luther Strange. The GOP has been pouring money into Alabama to try to defeat Moore, but it looks like a huge waste of cash:

Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, a candidate in next week’s Republican special election primary, is out with a new ad hitting Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his “DC slime machine.” The 30-second spot from Moore’s campaign is apparently a response to the McConnell-controlled Senate Leadership Fund, which is reportedly willing to spend up t0 $8 million to boost one of Moore’s opponents, Sen. Luther Strange (R-AL). The ad targets McConnell’s “slime machine” for failing to repeal Obamacare and “for bearing witness” against Moore. Transcript as follows: They lied about repealing Obamacare. During the campaign, then-candidate Donald Trump released a list of 21 potential Supreme Court nominees that was met with reaction from conservatives ranging from general approval to ecstasy depending on who you defined as a “conservative.” Until Donald Trump won the election and President Trump made it clear he intended to move expeditiously on nominating a replacement for the great Antonin Scalia cultural conservatives were content to take the word of Supreme Court the Federalist Society and others in the legal profession that all the potential nominees were “conservatives.” However, when President Trump said that he planned to forward a...

The son of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore was arrested Sunday for drug possession near the scene of an attempted break-in, court records show. Caleb Moore, 24, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. According to court documents, officers responded to the 1200 block of Allen Street in Troy to a report of an attempted home break-in. They found five men, including Moore, outside near a pickup truck that smelled strongly of marijuana. After the men said there were no drugs in the vehicle, officers searched the truck and found a bag of marijuana in...

Montgomery County Probate Judge Steven Reed says he didn't feel any pressure to listen to Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore and not issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Moore's order to all probate judges not to issue marriage licenses to gay couples "was a desperate attempt to defy the federal government," Reed said in an interview with Jonathan Karl on Sunday's 'This Week' on ABC. Reed was the first probate judge in the state of Alabama to publicly say he would issue marriage licenses to gay couples when a federal judge struck down the state's ban on gay...

During a heated discussion over gay marriage, CNN morning Anchor Chris Cuomo opined that the unalienable rights endowed to all Americans do not come from God. Cuomo was debating Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage. Near the end of the back-and-forth and after Moore argued that rights cannot be handed down by men, Cuomo blurted out:“Our rights do not come from God, your honor, and you know that. They come from man... That’s your faith, that’s my faith, but that’s not our country. Our laws come from collective agreement and compromise.”

Many cases challenging Barack Obama’s presidential eligibility have come and gone, but now an appeal has been filed with a state Supreme Court led by a newly elected chief justice who has expressed doubt about Obama’s qualification for office. Roy Moore was elected chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court last November, a decade after he defied a federal order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the state Supreme Court building. Now, 2012 Constitution Party presidential nominee Virgil Goode and Alabama Republican Party leader Hugh McInnish are asking the state’s highest court to force Secretary of State Beth Chapman...

The military judge who curiously noted without explanation that uncovering evidence about President Obama's birth records could prove "embarrassing" and denied an officer the right to obtain potentially exculpatory evidence in a court-martial simply has forgotten the Constitution, the supreme rule of the United States. So says Judge Roy Moore, who battled the politically correct climate as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court a decade ago and ultimately was removed from office by a state panel that refused to review the constitutionality of a federal court order. SNIP "Lt. Col. Lakin has every right to question the lawfulness of...
