Senate Democrats are nearly united in their opposition to Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-Mass.), the scion of their party’s most fabled family, in his bid to unseat Sen. Ed Markey (D). Kennedy, a 39-year-old graduate of Harvard Law School, is putting his political career on the line by taking on a Democratic incumbent who has been a fixture in Congress since 1976. His campaign also marks the best hope of putting a Kennedy back in the Senate or White House in the foreseeable future. The Kennedy name has captivated Democrats going back 60 years, when John F. Kennedy ushered in...

The death of Robert F Kennedy's 22-year-old granddaughter Saoirse Kennedy Hill was caused by an accidental overdose. A death certificate released on Friday revealed that Saoirse was found unresponsive at the Kennedy Compound back on August 1 due to a fatal mixture of prescription medications, methadone and alcohol. Among the prescription drugs found in her system were diazepam and nordiazepam (first marketed as Valium), fluoxetine (Prozac) and norfluoxetine (the anti-depressant Luoxetine). Her death came just one month before she was set to start her senior year at Boston College.

Carly Simon may have had a strong bond with at least one important White House figure — her latest book, Touched by the Sun, documents her close friendship with former first lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis — but Donald Trump certainly wasn’t it. In an interview with the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper, the singer recounted her run-in with the man who would become president. Though Simon doesn’t say precisely when the Trump encounter happened, it was at a New York luncheon for Benazir Bhutto, the Pakistan prime minister who was assassinated in 2007, and therefore long before the billionaire turned to politics....

Rep. Joe Kennedy III, D-Mass., announced Saturday that he will mount a primary challenge to Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., next year. The 38-year-old Kennedy -- the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy – formally announced his candidacy at a community center in Boston after weeks of rumors that he was mulling entering the race. [Snip] The challenge to Markey, 73, is likely to leave local Democrats, including 2020 presidential hopeful and fellow Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., with a difficult choice of who to back. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has already endorsed Markey, with whom she has worked closely on the Green...

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused security guard and Lockheed Aircraft employee Cesar Eugene Thane of delivering the fatal blow to his father Robert Kennedy. The social media post was published on the day of Thane’s death in the Philippines. “Thane Eugene Cesar died today in the Philippines. Compelling evidence suggests that Cesar murdered my father,” RFK Jr. wrote. “On June 5, 1968, Cesar, an employee in a classified section of Lockheed’s Burbank facility, was moonlighting as a security guard at the Ambassador Hotel,” he continued. “He had landed the job about one week earlier....

Bringing her political star power to races for Congress, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday endorsed Democratic Senator Ed Markey for re-election in Massachusetts as he faces a potential primary challenge from Congressman Joe Kennedy III. Ocasio-Cortez said in a video released by Markey's campaign that she's backing the Democratic incumbent as one of the Senate's "strongest progressives." Markey is her Senate partner on the Green New Deal climate change proposal. He introduced the controversial bill in the Senate. She said she is "proud to enthusiastically support" Markey's reelection. "When I first got to Congress and we started to discuss big,...

The 1953 wedding of Jacqueline Bouvier and then-Sen. John F. Kennedy was so perfect it is still being talked about more than 65 years later. As recently as 2017, gossip website The List was still calling it “the most beautiful wedding ever.” It was a fairy tale worthy of the legendary couple who would preside over Camelot. But for Ann Lowe, who designed the bridal gown, it was a nightmare. First, the wedding dress was destroyed 10 days before the ceremony. Then the 24-year-old bride, who did not really like the gown in the first place, snubbed her. Asked who...

Alleging that "it was Reagan's unwarranted tax cuts that led to the assassinations of Bobby Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King in the 1970s," Democratic presidential candidate, former Vice-President Joe Biden called for "a doubling of the capital gains tax rate." "Trump is taking this country down that same disastrous path," Biden claimed. "The tax cuts and deregulation he crammed down America's throat have unleashed the same explosion of prosperity and greed that characterized that tragic earlier era. We must elect Democrats to avoid repeating these earlier mistakes." The former Veep vowed that "if I'm your next president, I will...

A website, Facebook page and petition urging Massachusetts Rep. Joseph Kennedy III to challenge Ed Markey for his U.S. Senate seat are picking up steam as a media report indicates Kennedy is, in fact, mulling a run. The New York Times, citing an anonymous Democratic official, reported Saturday morning that Kennedy, 38, is thinking about a campaign against Markey, 73, and would decide in the coming weeks. Last month, a poll asked voters if they would vote for Kennedy or Markey for Senate, according to Politico. A Democratic official told the Times that Kennedy paid for the survey. Markey was...

Comments of Dr. Scott Lively on the 4th Anniversary of Obergefell v Hodges, June 26, 2019, US Supreme Court, Washington DC I am Dr. Scott Lively and I’m here to explain how the LGBT movement gained legal, cultural and political supremacy over Christianity in America in just 50 years. It advanced through five stages and four supreme court rulings. The Five Stages of Homofascism are: 1. Tolerance 2. Acceptance 3. Celebration 4. Forced Participation 5. Punishment of Dissenters The original goal of the LGBT movement in the 1950s was tolerance, what Dale Jennings of the Mattachine Society called “The right...

The Today show is adding a new feature to its third hour, focusing on women’s health care. Titled “Women’s Wellness Disrupt-HERS with Maria Shriver,” it began August 1 in honor of National Wellness Month. And in an interview with People magazine, Shriver made sure to not only equate abortion with health care, but to also frame it as nothing more than a simple issue of choice. “I’ve always been pro-choice. And I think it’s a woman’s right to decide what to do with her body and to have access to that,” she said. “I always make the distinction pro-choice is...

Police were stationed outside the home of 91-year-old Ethel Kennedy on Thursday night, hours after paramedics responded to reports of an “unattended death” at her family's Hyannis Port, MA compound. A family statement had confirmed earlier that Saoirse Kennedy Hill, the 22-year-old granddaughter of Ethel and the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, had died at the home, though no cause of death was disclosed. A report in The New York Times, however, said the daughter of Courtney Kennedy Hill -- one of Robert and Ethel Kennedy's 11 children -- had died of an apparent drug overdose. "The world is a...

Robert F. Kennedy’s granddaughter reportedly died of an apparent drug overdose at the family’s Cape Cod compound on Thursday — the latest in a long line of tragedies to rock the storied family. Saoirse Kennedy Hill, 22, was staying at the sprawling Hyannis Port, Mass., home of her grandmother, 91-year-old Ethel Kennedy, RFK’s widow. By the time medics arrived to the Marchant Avenue mansion at about 2:30 p.m., the young Kennedy was already in cardiac arrest, the Hyannis News reported. She was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The New York Times said the suspected cause...

Emergency crews arrived on the scene and found the patient was in cardiac arrest. The woman was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. When distress reports reached U.S. Intelligence in Langley and the Pentagon that the American ambassador to Benghazi and dozens of his diplomatic personnel were under terrorist attack in Libya on Sept. 11 2012, CIA and Defense Department officials scrambled an immediate response. Officials moved quickly to assemble a counter-terrorism team of professionals to dispatch to Benghazi. That little-known but elite squad, known as the Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST), is in fact the government’s sole inter-agency, on call and short notice team trained to respond to any terror-related incident in the world. But not this time. Not in Benghazi. FEST...

AP Images ✔ @AP_Images 50 years ago today, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy left a party on Chappaquiddick Island near Martha's Vineyard with Mary Jo Kopechne, 28; some time later, Kennedy's car went off a bridge into the water. Kennedy was able to escape, but Kopechne drowned. Let’s start this in reverse, as it’s the best way to put this in perspective. It’s not true that Kopechne “drowned.” The coroner never autopsied the body, itself a curious omission when dealing with an unattended death of a healthy young woman. Eyewitness testimony by the person who recovered her body at the scene,...

Ted Kennedy might have become president - Richard Nixon certainly thought the runt of the litter was going to be the Democrat nominee against him in 1972. But the Kennedys' dreams of a restoration of "Camelot" were shattered 50 years ago this week, as Teddy's mother's 1967 Delmont 88 Oldsmobile plunged off a small bridge on Chappaquiddick Island into a tidal pond, drowning Mary Jo Kopechne. Teddy killed the 28-year-old "girl," as he called her, and he was allowed to plead guilty to ... leaving the scene of an accident. Not vehicular homicide, or drunk driving, or reckless driving, or...
