The Essendon football club in Australia is actively considering replacing the bomber aircraft it has used as a logo in various forms since World War II. A research project is now underway seeking to determine how the club’s members and stakeholders view the team in light of modern sensitivities. According to the Herald Sun newspaper, Essendon wants to know whether its fans believe the wartime aircraft logo is the best representation of the Melbourne suburban club that plays in the national Australian Football League.

The U.S. Army on Wednesday unveiled a rebranded campaign to bolster recruiting efforts as the military struggles to meet personnel goals, particularly among younger generations of Americans. The Army’s latest recruitment campaign brand has a focused interest on attracting the next generation of Americans to the branch based on the argument that an Army career leads to self-discovery and limitless possibilities. The new campaign includes a tweaked logo design — the same gold five-star symbol, but without the box that the logo previously included, to suggest the sky is the limit — along with a return of the Army catchphrase...

The Central Intelligence Agency announced at the start of the new year that it had traded its old site design in favor of a new look. From Creative Bloq The CIA’s new rebrand includes a refreshed logo (below) which retains its predecessor’s circular shape – and very little else. With its bold, black-and-white typeface and wavy lines, the internet is wondering whether the CIA has been taking logo design inspiration from techno music posters. The logo features on the CIA’s new recruitment website, and is part of a rebranding effort designed to encourage more diverse applicants “from people of all...

BOSTON — Massachusetts lawmakers last week took a step toward potentially replacing the official state seal and motto, a victory for activists who have argued for decades that the current versions disparage Native Americans. A legislative resolve creating a commission to recommend a new seal and motto (S 2848) emerged in the final hours of the 2020-2021 lawmaking session, earning support from both branches and landing on Gov. Charlie Baker's desk just after 4 a.m.

NEW YORK (AP) - Milton Glaser, the groundbreaking graphic designer who adorned Bob Dylan’s silhouette with psychedelic hair and summed up the feelings for his native New York with “I (HEART) NY,” died Friday, his 91st birthday. **SNIP** In posters, logos, advertisements and book covers, Glaser’s ideas captured the spirit of the 1960s with a few simple colors and shapes. He was the designer on the team that founded New York magazine with Clay Felker in the late ’60s. **SNIP** The bold “I (HEART) NY” logo - cleverly using typewriter-style letters as the typeface - was dreamed up as part...

Land O’Lakes is quietly undergoing a brand makeover, removing the iconic Indian woman from its packaging after 92 years. Land O’Lakes President and CEO Beth Ford said in a statement that the Minnesota butter company is repackaging its products in time for the company’s “100th anniversary.” “As a farmer-owned co-op, we strongly feel the need to better connect the men and women who grow our food with those who consume it,” Ford said. “Our farmer-to-fork structure gives us a unique ability to bridge this divide.” A spokesperson for the company told the Post Bulletin the branding shift is to focus...

The Worm was born, a decision prompted by the 1972 launch of the National Endowment for the Arts’ Federal Design Improvement Program that aimed to improve visual standards across government agencies. Danne & Blackburn’s “cleaner, sleeker” design system—complete with a full Graphics Standards Manual—aimed to make the agency’s logo more universal and versatile. The Meatball was not retired with the introduction of The Worm, but appeared in more limited contexts. Although the “simplistic, yet innovative design” of The Worm logo was initially a hit... affection for the logo had soured less than a decade later. At the suggestion of Langley...

Army National Guard recruiting materials will no longer feature the traditional armed Minute Man logo, opting for a more sedate branding. (Photos: National Guard Bureau)Gone is the traditional flintlock rifle and armed citizen soldier, a move one publication chalked up in part to “no tolerance” policies on the display of images of firearms in schools. The familiar National Guard Seal and Emblem has long featured a likeness of the famous Concord Minute Man statue in Concord, Massachusetts. The statue, first unveiled in 1875 by sculptor Daniel Chester French, symbolizes the local militia that stood to in an effort to halt...

A new New Jersey ice cream shop called “Dairy Air” has shocked locals with its sexy cartoon cow logo — a bawdy beret-wearing bovine flaunting her curvy, branded derriere that one resident slammed as “offensive and sickening.” “This kind of marketing scheme is the reason we currently have a sexual predator in the White House,” Tingle continued, pleading in the note for the ice cream parlor to “reconsider” the logo design.

Hillary Clinton's infamous campaign logo was created by a three-person team of designers who were invited to work on the "secret" design project four months before the official campaign launch in April 2015, according to a recently published essay written by the lead designers. Michael Bierut's essay, "I'm With Her: What I learned designing a logo for Hillary Clinton," was published in the Design Observer. It chronicles the timeline of his involvement with Clinton's campaign—from the excitement of learning that his logo was chosen, to the heartbreak of Clinton's electoral defeat, and further to his decision to wear the logo...

An ongoing source of controversy in baseball is the Indians' ongoing use of the Chief Wahoo logo. For the uninitiated, here's the logo in question: The team has, without much acknowledgment, de-emphasized Wahoo in recent years, but it's still an occasional part of the team's uniform. As for the league, MLB addressed the issue in passing during last year's ALCS, but now it appears that commissioner Rob Manfred and the team are having more in-depth discussions about the use of Wahoo ... [Snip] The Indians were of course just awarded the 2019 All-Star Game ... If recent hints and cultural...

Left-wing CNN’s sister network HLN blurred out the Trump 2016 logo of a man’s t-shirt it interviewed for a human interest segment on Wednesday. The man was being interviewed for his rescuing of a baby left unattended in a hot car. Steven Eckel was wearing a blue Trump 2016 t-shirt during his initial interview with HLN, which was broadcast live. During a subsequent re-airing of the interview, however, HLN’s production team blurred out his t-shirt logo.

Okay, I propose that the Trump-Pence logo below be designated the unofficial logo of the campaign. It was originally designed by Freeper HotHunt and tweaked by Freeper Malsua into the final design you see. The original 16 was ditched since we already know what year it is. Also the letters T & P were enlarged and since P belongs to both Trump and Pence, it is divided diagonally by color. Also the "Make America Great Again" was tweaked so it matches in width the names above. I like this logo because of its simplicity and the fact it could also...

Okay, yesterday I POSTED the graphic for a Trump-Pence logo developed by the wife of a friend of mine. The main criticism of it is that of the letters TP being together for obvious reasons. Also criticized was the fact that the red stripes in the P reminded folks of a prison uniform. Okay, out of all that feedback came a logo posted by Freeper HotHunt and I think it could be a winner. IMHO it is definitely BETTER than the new Trump Pence logo which features a photo of the two of them. Um...I don't think a logo should...

Okay, the original Trump-Pence logo has been scrapped. The second logo is okay and features a photo of Trump and Pence. Perhaps a little too graphic dense in terms of a logo. HOWEVER, the graphic artist wife of a friend of mine, Brian Craig, co-host of the Steve Kane radio show in South Florida has created the following Trump-Pence logo. What do you think of it?
