A mysterious illness contracted by workers at a Minnesota meat-packing plant is being investigated by state health officials. Eleven workers at Quality Pork Processing Inc. in Austin, a pork processing plant whose main customers is Austin-based Hormel (NYSE: HRL), became ill. The state says there is no evidence that the public was at risk or that the food from the plant was contaminated. The workers affected included men and women from a range of ages and ethnicities, State Epidemiologist Ruth Lynfield said Monday.
