Perhaps one of you Canadian Freepers can answer this: How difficult is it for someone in Canada to have an AK-47 or similar rifle in his possession? I was under the impression that it was basically impossible. Reason for this question is that the alleged suspect in the Quebec Mosque shooting is reported to have had an AK-47 or similar rifle in his possession.

Witness statements and reports which conflict with the Canadian government’s account of what occurred during the tragic January 29th, 2017 Quebec terror attack at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec City raise questions about what actually happened the night of the tragedy. The evidence indicates that contrary to the official narrative, there was more than one gunman and multiple weapons were captured in the possession of arrestees. Media outlets also were so eager to claim the incident was caused by white supremacists that they were fooled into reporting false information from parody news accounts on twitter. I. Multiple Media Sources...

Faith Goldy joined me in studio on last night's show, shortly after returning from her investigation into the mass murder at a Quebec City mosque. We both find aspects of the police investigation confusing, and the media's reaction troubling. (Faith says that certain mainstream media reporters actually accused the Rebel of fomenting violence.) • University student identified as shooter in deadly mosque attack

A French-Canadian university student was identified Monday as the alleged shooter who killed six people and wounded 19 others as they prayed in a Quebec City mosque — an assault the Canadian prime minister called a “terrorist attack.” The suspect, Alexandre Bissonnette, 27, was an anthropology and political science student at the University of Laval, the oldest French-language university in North America, a source told Reuters. Bissonnette — who was not previously known to police — lived with his parents in a single-family home on Tracel Street in the Cap-Rouge district, where police conducted a search Monday. Bissonnette’s father is...

Quebec City Police are outside of a mosque where multiple gunshots were fired. Multiple people are feared wounded, according to CBC's French-language service Radio-Canada. Their condition is not known at this time. A number of ambulances are parked outside of the Islamic cultural centre of Quebec in the Sainte-Foy neighbourhood. Police have set up a perimeter around the mosque.
  • Five dead in 'barbaric' mosque shooting in Canada

Five people are said to have been killed after gunmen opened fire in a mosque in Quebec City, Canada, during evening prayers. The mosque's president, Mohamed Yangui, confirmed the death toll and described the attack as "barbaric". Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Twitter: "Tonight, Canadians grieve for those killed in a cowardly attack on a mosque in Quebec City. My thoughts are with victims & their families." A witness said that up to three gunmen fired on about 40 people inside the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Centre. Another witness said a heavily armed police tactical squad was seen...

[snip] "It seemed to me that they had a Quebecois accent. They started to fire, and as they shot they yelled, 'Allahu akbar!' The bullets hit people that were praying. People who were praying lost their lives. A bullet passed right over my head," said the witness. [snip]

The terror suspects were identified as Mohamed Khadir and Alexandre Bissonnette, the Canadian TV network TVA Nouvelles reported. They were arrested soon after the shooting at the Quebec Islamic Cultural Centre Sunday night and were expected to appear in court later Monday, police told reporters. One of the gunman actually turned himself in, calling 911 less than 20 minutes later and giving officers his location so they could arrest him, police said. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the attack, calling it a “terrorist attack on Muslims.” The attackers were students at Université Laval, a school in Quebec, a source close...

The Daily Beast falsely reported Sunday night that a pair of white supremacists had been identified as the perpetrators of the mass shooting at a Quebec City mosque. The rumor that white supremacists David M.J. Aurine and Mathieu Fournier were identified as the shooters appears to have been begun by a hoax Reuters account. Again, that isn’t really Reuters, but the tweet racked up over a thousand retweets. While many fell for the hoax on social media, the only outlet that reported on it was the Daily Beast. The parody account appeared to acknowledge the Daily Beast story, tweeting two...
