A user in a low level hacking forum has published the phone numbers and personal data of hundreds of millions of Facebook users for free online. The exposed data includes personal information of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries, including over 32 million records on users in the US, 11 million on users in the UK, and 6 million on users in India. It includes their phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, birthdates, bios, and — in some cases — email addresses. Insider reviewed a sample of the leaked data and verified several records by matching known...

A Twitter insider was responsible for a wave of high profile account takeovers on Wednesday, according to leaked screenshots obtained by Motherboard and two sources who took over accounts. On Wednesday, a spike of high profile accounts including those of Joe Biden, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Uber, and Apple tweeted cryptocurrency scams in an apparent hack. "We used a rep that literally done all the work for us," one of the sources told Motherboard. The second source added they paid the Twitter insider. Motherboard granted the sources anonymity to speak candidly about a security incident. A Twitter spokesperson...

Mick West... extensively documents his efforts to provide alternative explanations for the Navy UFO footage that doesn’t involve alien visitors to planet Earth. According to West, FLIR is probably a “low resolution, out of focus, backlit plane.” In the FLIR video, the video focuses on a single UAP in the distance. It appears to rotate in place before zooming to the left of the frame. According to To the Stars Academy, this movement is “unprecedented velocity.” ...[A]s the camera stops tracking the object, it also changes the zoom. This switch from a 1x zoom to a 2x zoom gives the...
  • Why Scientists Think Completely Unclassifiable and Undiscovered Life Forms Exist

In high school biology, we are taught that there are three types of life: eukaryotes (that's us, and most everything else we often think of as life), bacteria, and archaea (extremophiles and other very primitive life forms). But some scientists are pretty sure that there are entirely different, undiscovered lifeforms that could be prevalent on Earth, and they remain undescribed because we're not good at looking for them. In a new paper published in Science, Tanja Woyke and Edward Rubin of the Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute note that "there are reasons to believe that current approaches [to discovering...

Last week, Breitbart News revealed a secret video game journalist mailing list used by a clique of influential writers, editors, and bloggers, some of whom attempted to bully their colleagues with it in an attempt to shape the news agenda for political purposes. We can today reveal the complete list of journalists, some 150 key industry figures, on the list. Outlets with representation span the entire video games journalism universe and include Polygon, Ars Technica, Wired, Eurogamer, Destructoid, Kotaku, Joystiq, TechRadar, and many other well-known brands in games publishing. But they also include freelancers and staffers for publications as solidly...

I have a hardware question. I just now installed a new motherboard. When I powered it up, the fans came on and so did the mouse, but I did not hear beep and my screen was blank. What did I do wrong? this motherboard, it is from intel - a DG43GT iG43 Into this motherboard I put an Intel Pentium D 945 3.4GHz 800MHz 2x2MB CPU. I then added 8 GB (four 2GB sticks) of OCZ brand ram, and put in a OCZ brand silent power supply (500 watt) and a GeForce 9800GT graphics card. All of that stuff was...

Have to run out so if I don't respond immediately will still check on your recommendations when I get back.

Help needed. My computer won't boot. It steadily declined. First it started shutting down without notice, when I restarted it it started in safe mode and I didn't find anything wrong. Next reboot I got the message CMOS error. The processor speed, date, and time were all listed wrong in the setup. I corrected the time and the computer would not boot to windows. I reaccessed the setup utility and set the settings to match the ones in the user manual under the bios section. Now the computer won't boot to the basic startup (black screen listing processor, ram, etc...)....

OK, I have a computer that's about 3 years old and I'm very attached to it. I've done lots of upgrades and improvements over the past year or so and instead of getting a new one, I'd like to do one more upgrade.Having put in a Network Interface Card, doubled the RAM to 256K, installed a CD-RW drive and replaced the hard drive in my IBM Aptiva, I'm giving serious thought to updating the processor from a Pentium III 600 MHz to something like a P4 2G or something, and I have a few questions: 1) Do I need a...

Here's the deal. It's new set up. Gigabyte GA-7VRXP board, 1500(1.33ghz) Athalon, ATI Radeon 7000 board, 256DDR RAM. When I boot the machine, I get...nothing. No signal to the monitor. Everything spins up but no signal. The monitor never comes off power-saving mode. Note: I have not set the jumpers for the processor because they didn't come with instructions for the settings for the chip. The voltage is set to something called "Auto"(by default). The FS is set to 100(by default). I have not changed any of the settings for the board. Note: This is the same thing that happened...
