The number of Mexican politicians killed since September continues to rise. Recently, a politician was killed while taking a selfie and another was shot in her home just off the coast of Cancun. The New York Post reported that a Mexican politician who pledged to defy organized crime was shot dead as he posed for a picture with an admirer, according to reports and video. Congressional candidate Fernando Purón had just finished an election debate in the border city of Piedras Negras on Friday night when a woman holding a selfie stick asked him to take a picture, the Vanguardia...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump urged Republicans lawmakers on Friday to drop their efforts to pass comprehensive immigration legislation until after the November elections that he hopes will see more party members voted into Congress. The Republican president, faced with a public outcry over his policy that separated children from their migrant parents at the U.S. border with Mexico, tried to refocus the immigration debate on Congress in a series of early posts on Twitter. Despite Republican control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, the party’s slim 51-49 majority in the latter chamber makes some...

It’s very sad that Nancy Pelosi and her sidekick, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, want to protect illegal immigrants far more than the citizens of our country. The United States cannot stand for this. We wants safety and security at our borders!

TheDC’s Amber Athey and Justin Caruso regularly take to the streets of Washington, D.C., to ask the most important questions in America. This week, we showed people a number of photos taken of detention centers for migrant children. Clearly, President Trump is keeping these kids in such horrible conditions … just kidding, that was President Obama in 2014. That’s right, we showed people around D.C. photos from detention centers that were run in 2014 under President Obama. Some of the reactions may surprise you.

The House on Thursday rejected a hardline immigration bill — introduced by Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) — after leadership postponed a second vote on a compromise measure written with centrists. The 193-231 vote came a day after President Trump signed an executive order ending the controversial practice of separating children from parents who cross the border illegally. No Democrats voted in favor of Goodlatte's bill. House leadership had expressed pessimism on the chances for either Goodlatte’s legislation or a second compromise bill written with centrists, both of which come as the growing crisis at the border dominated headlines. The...

Democrats are converting their emotional protests against “family separation” into unpopular calls for the catch-and-release of many Central American migrants into ordinary Americans’ jobsites and schools. The pre-election, pro-migration push is a huge risk, according to a poll by The Economist and YouGov which shows 3:1 public opposition to the Democrats’s catch-and-release policy. That opposition to catch-and-release was reinforced by President Donald Trump’s June 20 Executive Order to keep families together in detention until their appeal is decided by a judge. Many Democrats are pushing their demand that migrants caught at the border be quickly released into Americans’ workplaces and...

House Republicans had to scramble late Wednesday night to fix a drafting error in a conservative immigration bill that would have accidentally given President Donald Trump $125 billion for border security, including his wall instead of the $25 billion intended. The error, which happens occasionally during legislative drafting accidentally allocated $25 billion per year for five years rather than allocating the $25 billion over a five-year period. The error, first reported by Politico, was just one of the last-minute hiccups that's unfolded around the House's immigration votes, which will occur later today and aren't likely to pass. House Freedom Caucus...

@realDonaldTrump “The highest level of bias I’ve ever witnessed in any law enforcement officer.” Trey Gowdy on the FBI’s own, Peter Strzok. Also remember that they all worked for Slippery James Comey and that Comey is best friends with Robert Mueller. A really sick deal, isn’t it? 9:03 PM · Jun 17, 2018 ______ The Democrats should get together with their Republican counterparts and work something out on Border Security & Safety. Don’t wait until after the election because you are going to lose! 8:49 PM · Jun 17, 2018 ______ Why was the FBI’s sick loser, Peter Strzok, working...

The U.S. government’s policy detaining migrant parents while sheltering their children elsewhere is reminiscent of Adolf Hitler’s slave-labor camps, according to a Tweet from former intelligence chief and NeverTrump activist Gen. Michael Hayden. Hayden, who ran the National Security Agency from 1999 to 2005, and was CIA director from 2006 to 2009, Tweeted an image of the entrance to the Birkenau slave-labor camp, with the comment “other governments have separated mothers and children.”

Authorities have been searching for Aaron Davis Clark, 31; Victor Andrew Apodaca, 28, and Ricky Ramon Sena, 24, since they escaped Friday from a detention center in Clovis --- about 75 miles east of Albuquerque. Sena was being held on an aggravated battery with deadly weapon charge. Apodaca was facing several drug charges, including trafficking controlled substances. Clark was being held on firearms, child abuse and identity theft charges, officials said. The three men were still on the run Sunday -- unlike the guard who allegedly helped them escape. Sarina Dodson, a detention officer at the Curry County Detention Center,...

Well then, you must like losing your job to someone in Mexico who will make $3/hour. Union leaders at an air conditioner factory in Indianapolis threatened with losing 1,400 jobs to Mexico said on Tuesday the plants owner expects to pay Mexican workers $3 an hour compared to an average of more than $20 an hour for the U.S. workers. "We have not given up the fight yet," said Chuck Jones, president of the United Steelworkers union local that represents workers at the Carrier Corp plant. "But Carrier has pretty well indicated that the wage differential is too great and...

Benedictine monks in Chama Canyon, New Mexico, encounter God through work, prayer and silence in the wildernessIn 1964, Father Aelred Wall, OSB (1917-84), and two other monks left Mount Saviour Monastery in New York to scout out remote locations to establish a new “daughter,” or off-shoot monastery. After visiting Maine and Minnesota, the monks came to northern New Mexico and laid eyes on a rancho in the wilderness of Chama Canyon, 75 miles north of Santa Fe. They declared, “This is it!” and established the Monastery of Christ in the Desert of Abiquiu (www.christdesert.org). At a time when religious communities...

On the morning of Monday, April 30, Baeza says she was taking her puppy out to go to the bathroom with her 4-year-old daughter when she looked over to see her dog being mauled to death. Voting precincts have closed in Alabama, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota as eight states hold primaries Tuesday, including in California where the Democratic Party’s plan to regain control of the House of Representatives faces a big test. The Fox News Decision Desk can now project that former pharmaceutical executive Bob Hugin will win Tuesday’s Republican Senate primary in New Jersey. But it is too early to project a winner on the Democratic side, where incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez is battling fellow Democrat Lisa McCormick. Menendez’s corruption and bribery case is expected to play a starring role in...

SANTA FE – The New Mexico State Police say they have a major piece of evidence in last week’s triple homicide – a video of the killings as they took place. A Democratic senator who recorded his dramatic, unsuccessful effort to enter a federal immigration facility in Texas on video over the weekend was "irresponsibly spreading blatant lies about routine immigration enforcement," the White House said Monday. And in a separate statement, the Department of Homeland Security seemingly contradicted Sen. Jeff Merkley's suggestion that he was being systematically barred from immigrant detention centers, saying federal officials took extra steps to grant him access to one on Sunday. In footage uploaded to Facebook late Sunday and seen by more than a million viewers, Merkley, D-Ore., approached the Office of Refugee Resettlement facility...

MSNBC continues to maintain its red wall of silence on Joy Reid. But the ugliness just keeps rising. The old blog posts by the progressive personality reek of every bigotry that the left claims to condemn. Iran's pres strikes again Says "move Israel to Europe" "You believe the Jews were oppressed, why should the Palestinian Muslims have to pay the price?
