Ambassador Nikki Haley used the threat of a U.S. invasion of North Korea to secure a new round of sanctions against the regime last year, according to a new report. Harper’s Magazine reported that Haley raised the possibility of a U.S. invasion by telling a Chinese diplomat, “My boss is kind of unpredictable, and I don’t know what he’ll do." Haley recalled making those comments during remarks at a small gathering of people at the Council for National Policy, and as part of her effort to discourage China from vetoing additional oil sanctions on North Korea last September, following the...

Major General Herzi Halevi, the Commanding Officer of the IDF Southern Command, slammed the Hamas terrorist organization following the rocket attack on Be'er Sheva early Wednesday morning. "Hamas pretends to govern in Gaza, and tells the Gazan population that it seeks to improve their lives. However, in reality, Hamas specializes in riots at the border fence and in using explosive devices, incendiary and explosive balloons, and, as we saw last night, rockets," Gen. Halevi said in a statement. "Hamas worsens the lives of ordinary Gazans and last night took actions which forced us to strike a range of weapon production...

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley accused China of persecuting religious and ethnic minorities on a massive scale Monday in her first public remarks since announcing she would leave office last week. "It is the largest internment of civilians in the world today," Haley said in keynote remarks at the Chiefs of Defense Conference Dinner in Washington. "It may be the largest since World War II." The former South Carolina governor was particularly critical of Beijing's crackdown on Uighur and other Muslim minorities in China's northwest, which she described as being "straight out of George Orwell."

“A ‘rigged’ election with no competition” Double standards may not be enough to describe what has become of the United Nations. In some ways, it has no standards at all. This was demonstrated very clearly by last week’s UN General Assembly vote for new members to join the inaptly named Human Rights Council.

Since this week’s surprise announcement that Nikki Haley would depart by year’s end, everyone wants to know who’ll replace America’s UN ambassador — who was first dismissed, then hated, then feared and eventually appreciated, heck, even loved (at least by some). The answer, obviously, is up to the never-predictable President Trump, so most names bandied about are speculative, with many driven by wishful thinking. So here’s a wish: Christopher Burnham. Never heard of him? You may soon. Back in 2005-2006, then-Undersecretary General for Management Burnham, a former Connecticut comptroller and State Department official, was the highest American at the UN...

The much-advertised front-runner, former Deputy National Security Adviser Dina...

An Israeli government study shared with Washington argues that Palestinian refugees number in the thousands, not the millions designated by a U.N. aid agency whose funding has been slashed by the Trump administration, an Israeli official said on Friday. The fate of Palestinians displaced by the 1948 war of Israel’s founding and their descendants has long clouded U.S.-sponsored peace efforts. Frustration over the issue is among factors fuelling often violent weekly protests at the Gaza border over the last half year, during which around 200 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces. Palestinians demand a refugee right of return to...

U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley surprised virtually everybody this week when she announced she'd be resigning from her post at the end of the year. In doing so, Haley has managed something unique. She leaves the Trump administration with her reputation not merely undiminished but actually enhanced. She's popular with both pro- and anti-Trump factions on the right, and with shockingly high numbers of independents and Democrats. She has a long list of accomplishments under her belt and no embarrassments or scandals. She is almost certainly the most popular politician in America. OK, full disclosure: I'm biased and conflicted. I'm biased...

Once it becomes clear the two-state solution is finally dead, Jordan should again be asked to exercise control over suitably delineated portions of the West Bank and have the monarchy's religious role for holy sites like the Temple Mount reaffirmed President Trump’s National Security Adviser - John Bolton - has exposed the fiction that there is a legally-constituted “State of Palestine”—shredding United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and United Nations (UN) resolutions misleadingly recognising such a state when none - in fact—exists. Bolton was unequivocal in his statement:

Nikki Haley’s resignation earlier this week has set off a horse race inside administration circles to replace her. The early favorite? Dina Powell, former deputy to National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster and currently a top executive at Goldman Sachs. One problem: Powell is deeply unpopular with Donald Trump’s base. “All the right people don’t like her and all the wrong ones do,” a veteran conservative activist close with the White House told me Wednesday. A case in point: Max Boot , the ex-conservative NeverTrumper, endorsed her as having the right stuff on Tuesday night. Breitbart News is running...

Donald Trump’s former chief strategist slammed Nikki Haley’s decision to announce her resignation as ambassador to the UN as “suspect” and “horrific,” saying it overshadowed positive news Trump needs to rally support ahead of the midterms “The timing was exquisite from a bad point of view,” Steve Bannon said. “Everything she said yesterday and everything she said about stepping down could have been done on the evening of November 6. The timing could not have been worse.” Bannon said Haley’s announcement, which took White House officials by surprise, distracted attention from Kavanaugh’s first day as a justice on the Supreme...

President Donald Trump accepted the resignation of Nikki Haley, his ambassador to the United Nations and one of his longest-serving aides, and said she would leave by the end of the year. "She's done a fantastic job and we've done a fantastic job together," Trump said.

Is there more to Nikki Haley's resignation than first meets the eye? Putting together her past opposition to Trump, her thinly disguised ambition to run for the White House one day and the suddenness of the departure announcement, some Republicans think so. Nikki Haley declared herself “not a fan” of President Trump two weeks before the 2016 election. Author Michael Wolff branded her "as ambitious as Lucifer." A key Trump ally said Tuesday that the timing of her resignation "raised eyebrows" and "seemed odd." Haley's 2016 criticism of Trump and her differences with him over Russia policy made her a...

Back in August, we caught Joe Scarborough predicting that President Trump won't seek re-election in 2020. Scarborough stuck to that problematic prognostication this morning in offering an explanation for Nikki Haley's resignation as UN Ambassador. Joe conjectured that Haley is positioning herself to run in 2020—and to get out in front of Mike Pence—after Trump decides not to run. Get the rest of the story and view the video here.
