The Biden administration is poised to start contracts with private firms to surveil service member's social media accounts to find those with views they deem “concerning.” According to The Intercept: An extremism steering committee led by Bishop Garrison, a senior adviser to the secretary of defense, is currently designing the social media screening pilot program, which will “continuously” monitor military personnel for “concerning behaviors,” according to a Pentagon briefing in late March.

SACRAMENTO -- David A.R. Barnitz surveys the lawn on the north side of the State Capitol--the handful of tents, the small circle of activists seated in the shade. This is not "the nirvana I was hoping for," he admits. Still, as roughly 50 people gathered Thursday in the sweltering 97-degree heat for the start of the four-day Occupy National Gathering, he was encouraged by the "unity" and "sense of purpose" among those present. "It's Occupy in its evolutionary stages," he says hopefully. In the fall of 2011, thousands gathered in lower Manhattan for Occupy Wall Street, and thousands more staged...
  • Big Business and Marxist Collusion – Bourgeois Socialism

Who needs a Mayan apocalypse when you have Obama? The Occupy Movement, as we all know, was and is a tool of the elite. Skilled in projection and deflection, they screamed that big business was the enemy of the people and Marxism was the cure. No sane American would fall for that tripe. What the lame movement, if they had been honest, would have railed against was big business in collusion with big government. A marriage made in hell and brought to you by Barack Obama and the bourgeois socialists. We now have many, many examples of these elitists who...

As Michelle Obama recently said, any voter still undecided is a "knucklehead." Another blockbuster Daily Caller article today reporting that Mike Golash, a former president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 689 was taped at an Occupy Movement's People's Assembly on August 19th saying "Its objective is to make revolution in the United States, overthrow the Capitalist system and build communism." Transcript below. Photo: Mike Golash Transcript of Golash remarks (read the entire story at Daily Caller):MIKE GOLASH: Uh, Progressive Labor is a revolutionary Communist organization. Its objective is to make revolution in the United States, overthrow the Capitalist system and...
  • 5 Ways Liberalism Destroys Virtue

The more completely a person, group, or organization embraces liberalism, the less virtuous it becomes. It's almost like a mental sickness in that respect. People or groups who are lightly infected can soldier on without having it eat them alive. However, the deeper the sickness goes, the more it changes them. Eventually the liberal disease inside of people can grow so much that it warps their morals, their religious beliefs, and their way of thinking until they can no longer tell right and wrong. This destruction of virtue is a natural consequence of the fundamental beliefs that go along with...
  • Yes, The 99% Spring Is A Fraud

With hindsight gained by googling “MoveOn” and “co-opt” after the fact, I can’t claim that nobody tried to warn me. Many websites with left and even liberal politics had said in so many words, “Be wary of this organization called the 99% Spring. It is a Trojan horse for the Democrats.” I just didn’t read that anywhere in a timely fashion. I’ve had a lot of stuff on my plate lately. That’s my excuse. And in my ignorance, I responded to some spam about “nonviolent direct action training” organized by MoveOn and got invited to this 99% Spring thing on...

Dear Bill (Ayers): I try not to use the word “jack***” too often. Whenever I start writing about you, however, that word just seems to fit into every sentence – sort of like Selah fits into a Davidic Psalm. In fact, found myself using a little profanity when I heard about your recent remarks at an occupy Wall Street gathering in New York City. Here they are in their unedited stupidity: “We are living in a militarized society. That, that, it's clear what the message is from power. The message is that Occupy represents violence, and marginalization and insanity, when...
  • Al Gore doesn't know he's a one-percenter

The South by Southwest Festival (known as SXSW), held every March in Austin, Texas, bills itself as a "unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies." This year, things got a bit more political, adding a few sparks to its normal techie, artsy-fartsy flair. During a public discourse between former Vice President Al Gore Jr. and Sean Parker (who co-founded Napster), Gore said, “Our democracy has been hacked,” and urged the audience to commence an “Occupy Democracy” movement. This is eerily reminiscent of statements he made to Keith Olbermann last August, including the idea that we should work...

It’s Springtime for Occupy! That means the brilliant cast of characters that brought you the noxious, multimillion dollar expense to the taxpayer are back for a second round. Two of The Blaze’s favorite leaders of civic unrest, arch-liberal sociologist Frances Fox Piven and SEIU labor organizer Stephen Lerner discussed how Occupy Wall Street will pivot to a far more local, intimate occupation this spring after being evicted from their public squatting grounds with rubber bullets and crews in post apocalyptic hazmat suits. In an in-depth interview with Democracynow.org, Piven and Learner lay out five integral steps that Occupy will be...

OAKLAND -- Three Occupy Oakland protesters suspected of stealing an Oakland woman's wallet and making offensive remarks about her perceived sexuality were charged Friday with robbery and committing a hate crime, both felonies, authorities said. Michael Davis, 32, Nneka Crawford, 23, and Randolph Wilkins, 24, all of Oakland, were charged with the felonies by Assistant District Attorney Paul Hora. All remain jailed at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. Bail for Crawford and Wilkins is $105,000 and Davis is being held on $100,000 bail. Other possible suspects are being sought by police, said Sgt. Randy Wingate, the lead investigator. Among the...

Is it even possible to keep a straight face when someone argues the Occupy movement is nonviolent? Case in point, a recent letter to the editor where an Occupy protester threatens violent action by storming Wall Street with guns: Anyone who claims the "Occupy" movement has no clear message is either trying to discredit it or simply isn't paying attention. This protest always has been about economic injustice and the fact that a small handful of people have corrupted our system in their favor ("Editorial: 'Occupy' movement fading out in a whimper"). The fact that so many elites were alarmed...

Protesters at Friday’s “Occupy CPAC” event, organized by AFL-CIO and the Occupy DC movement, told The Daily Caller that they were paid “sixty bucks a head” to protest outside the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. One protester told TheDC that all the “Occupy” activists were being paid to protest, and that his union, Sheet Metal Workers Local 100, approached him about the money-making opportunity. “I have nothing nice to say about Local 100. … They just told me ‘you wanna make sixty bucks? So c’mon,’” the protester said. Other “Occupy CPAC” protesters were unwilling to speak on camera...

At the Modern Language Association (MLA) annual meeting in Seattle last week, English professor Joseph Ramsey pretty much said at a panel that when college activists in the faculty and the student body are finished hibernating, they will go back to doing the one thing that we know collegiates for decades have been trained to do—protest. In 2011, the world turned “from the Arab Spring to the American autumn,” Ramsey said at an MLA panel on “Class in the Classroom.” The Class they were talking about was not a course. “The Arab Spring put the stake in the blood-stained, hegemonic...
