I came across a thread that had been pulled. When I clicked on the story and read it and further researched the author, I'm confused. The author/writer seems pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, pro-conservative (and seemingly Conservative himself), anti-big-government & on and on, but the thread was pulled specifically citing the author's name, Warner Todd Huston. Even his Facebook page & web search didn't turn up anything I found to be anti-conservative (though I will cite a lack of religion in his publications...just an observation given the topic). First post ever. I would like to suggest that those who get so annoyed at repeat breaking news posts try to chill a bit and remember that there are four time zones in the U.S.. Also people in other countries check in for news. I am in Alaska and by 6:00 am my time it is already 10:00 on the East coast; so what some Freeper addicts may have seen before is new news to us in Alaska. So be kind and don't get so annoyed; there are way more important things to get wound up about.

There are way too many non-breaking news stories being placed in breaking news. It's gotten so bad, this is in breaking news. Please, if the story has been posted once in breaking news, it doesn't belong there again unless it's a critical update. Also, don't abuse topics. A story does not need to be posted in every single topic. It does not generate more hits to your thread. Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Scott Peterson, etc, are not breaking news, unless convicted. <p>It is obvious that we are going to need some sort of guidelines regarding the posting of pictures of the brutality of war, such as those broadcast by Al Jazeera today.</p>
<p>As always, our first preference is that people use common sense, discretion, and show courtesy to others. We are not going to define any hard rules here, but instead give some guidelines.</p>
<p>If in doubt as to if some picture should be posted on Free Republic, don't post it. Instead, link to the picture.</p>

10/21/02 Freeper Consideration: We need another field for our news title comments! This is directed to our webmaster(s). I have noticed that more and more articles have had their titles altered by the members lately (in this practice I am also guilty).
