It was Rambo-mania in the town of Hope, British Columbia, as stars from the film, their family members and fans gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of the most iconic action movies of all time last weekend. The district of Hope, a town with a population of less than 7,000 situated amid the Cascade Mountains around two hours east of Vancouver, doubled as the fictional town of Hope in Washington State for the 1982 movie. Filming of the Sylvester Stallone classic began all the way back in November 1981 and lasted until the following April. The movie spawned...

It remains to be seen if the latest incarnation of Rambo will attract audiences.  Most of those who go to movie theaters these days are likely unfamiliar with all the earlier incarnations of Stallone's Rambo films.  The first was in 1982, First Blood.  It dealt, in exaggerated form, with the anger and resentment toward the returning vets from Vietnam.  The Left's intolerance for our military was as egregious then as it is now.  For inexplicable reasons, leftists loathe our first line of defense against our enemies, whom they always seem to revere or defend.  "It was ever thus," to quote Una Merkel in the original Parent Trap.So...

The novelist behind the “Rambo” series is waging war — against his own creation. Author David Morrell, who breathed life into Vietnam War vet and one-man wrecking crew John Rambo in his 1972 novel “First Blood,” is the latest critic to badmouth Sylvester Stallone’s newest film. “I agree with these ‘Rambo: Last Blood’ reviews. This film is a mess, tweeted Morrell on Friday. “Embarrassed to have my name associated with it.” Morrell stated he had initially been involved in the creation of “Last Blood,” which was to show a more impassioned Rambo; instead, Matthew Cirulnick completed the gory screenplay. “I...

Critics are branding the new “Rambo” movie as racist because it dares to depict the actual violence that takes place on the Unites States’ southern border. “Rambo: Last Blood” is being slammed by professional critics as xenophobic, racist, and a call for President Trump’s border wall thanks to its politically incorrect storyline.

Sylvester Stallone is know primarily for three things. Firstly, he’s known for “Rocky”, the rags-to-riches movie that made him an overnight sensation. Secondly, he’s known for “Judge Dredd”, and essentially ruining a classic comic book character. Thirdly, he’s known for the “Rambo” movies, a series about a Vietnam war veteran with severe PTSD, who tries and utterly fails to adapt to modern civilian life. Rambo Gun Source: Orion Pictures “First Blood”, the original film in the series, hit the cultural zeitgeist at just the right time. This was probably less to do with the movie’s biting political commentary, and more...

When reports surfaced over Sylvester Stallone’s apparent desire to take on Isis in Rambo 5, his representative stepped in to claim they are untrue. A rumour circulated that Stallone was present at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego to announce further details for the action sequel, which he initially confirmed last year on Twitter. “We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where Isis have their greatest strongholds,” the star reportedly said on a panel. “We’re working with the locals there to help deliver the most intense and realistic Rambo movie experience ever.” But his representative came forward to...

Sylvester Stallone: "We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where ISIS have their greatest strongholds." Punching up the star-power at San Diego's Comic-Con on Friday, Sylvester Stallone made nerds swoon with talk of Creed, the newest installment in the Rocky film franchise But according to the Washington Times, Sly raised even more eyebrows after hinting at a new Rambo movie pitting the legendary Vietnam veteran against a scourge worse than communist jungle guerrillas, the jihadist desert terrorists of the Islamic State. "We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where ISIS have their greatest strongholds," said the...

This weekend, you can see Sly lay waste to hundreds of fools in The Expendables 3. But the man formerly known as John Rambo is, surprisingly, one of the NRA’s most reviled stars. On Friday, The Expendables 3 hits theaters. It’s the third installment in the star-studded, old-school, bullet-riddled action series spearheaded by Sylvester Stallone—of the Rambo franchise or, for the less-discerning filmgoer, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. The latest Expendables flick was never destined to garner much love from film critics. “You need The Expendables 3 like you need a kick in the crotch,” wrote Variety’s Justin Chang....

When I was thirteen, I played a whole lot of Dungeons & Dragons. I was even the Dungeon Master for a while. I designed my own campaigns, with characters and towns mapped out. Old school. None of this video game online stuff. Sitting around a table with a bunch of nerds in a basement, with the Dungeon Master guide, combat tables, and a jar of 6-, 12-, and 20-sided dice (don’t judge me, you did stuff you don't talk about, too). This is Exodus: Gods and Kings.I can imagine Ridley Scott and his writing team of Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, Jeffrey Caine,...
