Last week, Ivan Drago became an American citizen. At 66, Dolph Lundgren is still well preserved enough to bring to mind his most famous role, which he reprised in 2018’s "Creed II." But the image of the former communist menace holding a tiny American flag in front of a Homeland Security emblem would have had much more symbolic weight had he done it 40 years ago. Today the fearsome Drago mainly summons fond memories of a simpler time, when it was easy to tell who our enemies were. Carl Weathers, who immortalized the role of Apollo Creed opposite Sylvester Stallone in Rocky and three of its sequels, has died. He was 76. Weathers’ family announced that the actor died Tuesday. Burt Young, a former boxer who was in Sylvester Stallone‘s corner as his brother-in-law Paulie in the six Rocky films and received a supporting actor Oscar nomination for his turn in the original, has died. He was 83. He died on Oct. 8 in Los Angeles, his daughter, Anne Morea Steingieser, told The New York Times Wednesday.

Three “fairly mummified” bodies were discovered in a remote Rocky Mountains campsite in Colorado this week — and may have been there since last year, authorities said. One of the bodies was located by a hiker on Sunday, while two others were found by authorities on Monday, Gunnison County Sheriff Adam Murdie said. Two of the bodies were found inside a small, zipped-up tent while the other was outside in the camp. The bodies were found in a wooded, remote area, away from areas typically frequented by hikers. “This is not a typical occurrence anywhere, by any means,” Murdie said.

Yukon paleontologists have this week unveiled another unusual find from the goldfields near Dawson City: a mummified Arctic ground squirrel from the Ice Age, curled up in a ball as though it died while hibernating. It was found a few years ago, but it's being shown off now because the government is preparing the dead rodent for display at the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre in Whitehorse, expected to reopen later this spring after a redesign.
