I have noted several times in the past few years that the nature of our relationship with government seems to have shifted. Specifically, We The People now appear to be in an abusive relationship with government. In all abusive relationships there is a common set of behaviors; the DC control system is following a familiar pattern. My recent research trips helped me to understand exactly how severe and deep this shift has become.Certain abusers distort reality in the mind of their victims through gaslighting. Essentially manipulative and strategic lying, to make the abused think something, perhaps even their reality, is...

There can be few experiences more traumatizing than suddenly becoming an alien in your own land. The primal fear of the hate-fueled mob coming to get you, burning torches in hand, runs through our human DNA.That is the pandemic experience of tens of millions of Americans, condensed in two sentences. One moment, you’re waving to a longtime neighbor. The next, the neighbor is calling the police because you are violating the lockdown.

When the monolithic narrative that is all they have been taught lies in ruins, they will replace it not with a rational, informed alternative – for they will know of none – but with whatever satisfies the rage of a population that realizes, too late, that it has been hoodwinked.”

They have found a COVID scapegoat. It is you.Persuasion to get the COVID vaccines failed with some Americans, as those who seek to persuade – namely government officials and the media – have no credibility. Onto the next step: a collective effort by the press, corporations, and the government to blame and vilify and target the unvaccinated. This is no coincidence, as such efforts help deflect responsibility from those who caused and created this problem in the first place. In New York City, you will need proof of a COVID vaccine for indoor dining, gyms, and concerts. If you want to participate...

Global Warming: A noted researcher who questioned the climate's sensitivity to greenhouse gases says his paper is not being published for ideological reasons and because it might fuel doubt in the climate change story. First the climate change zealots tried to manipulate the data. Now they are trying to control the debate they claim is over. It's not over, though, and the science is not settled as true science never is. But those, such as Swedish climate scientist Lennart Bengtsson, who dare to challenge the climate change orthodoxy are being silenced in an organized campaign.

The Scapegoat Strategy By Charles Krauthammer October 13 What do you do if you can’t run on your record — on 9 percent unemployment, stagnant growth and ruinous deficits as far as the eye can see? How to run when you are asked whether Americans are better off than they were four years ago and you are compelled to answer no? Play the outsider. Declare yourself the underdog. Denounce Washington as if the electorate hasn’t noticed that you’ve been in charge of it for nearly three years. But above all: Find villains. President Obama first tried finding excuses, blaming America’s...

One of the first books that made me thirst for God was, ironically, about His polar opposite. The book is Andrew Delbanco's The Death of Satan: How Americans Have Lost the Sense of Evil, The author describes the disastrous results of Americans rejecting the concept of evil. When Satan was alive and well, citizens practiced the Ten Commandments, atoned for their sins, and worried about eternal damnation. But today, inhabitants eschew the devil as an anachronism of days gone by. And what has been the result of the Death of Satan? More bloodshed than ever before in the history of...

John Fund - WSJ "Obama's Two America's" http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704471504574445134229948894.html Excerpt: Why is Barack Obama having trouble getting a health care plan through a Congress dominated by his own party? Partly because the coalition that elected him is an unwieldy blend of the rich and the poor. The two groups view the need for radical surgery on the nation's health delivery system quite differently. But he also calls the Obama coalition a fragile one when it comes to economic issues. The Gallup Poll reports that voters earning under $30,000 a year wanted health care reform by a 13-point margin. But those earning...

'Pick the Target, Freeze It, Personalize It and Polarize It.' - Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals. That's what Barack Obama taught his ACORN followers in all his Community Agitator classes in Chicago. That slogan defines mob scapegoating, of course. It is an exact prescription for whipping up mobs -- by race, by gender, by ethnicity, by religion. If you want to know how to whip a mob of Pakistani Taliban fascisti to whip a young girl for flirting with a young man in public, this is exactly what you do: Pick the Target, Freeze It, Personality It, and Polarize It....

The military justice system is taking center stage now that murder and kidnapping charges have been filed against seven Camp Pendleton-based Marines and a Navy corpsman in the alleged premeditated abduction and slaying of an unarmed Iraqi man. The case against the Kilo Company members from the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment is one of the most serious to arise out of the U.S. presence in Iraq, and military officials are taking the first procedural steps toward a possible court-martial for the accused. In many respects, the military's system of justice works the way it does in the civilian world....

Two soldiers who were jailed and thrown out the Army for abusing Iraqi prisoners are launching an appeal against their convictions. Corporal Daniel Kenyon and Lance Corporal Mark Cooley, both from Newcastle upon Tyne, were convicted at a court martial in Germany in February. Stuart Jackson, who represents both defendants, said: "I can confirm that an appeal has been lodged against sentencing and conviction." He said further details about the appeal would be released next week. The mistreatment of the civilian detainees took place at an aid facility known as Camp Bread Basket, near Basra, in May 2003. Cooley, 25,...

WASHINGTON, Dec. 23 - Democratic leaders say their party needs to de-emphasize the issue of abortion rights, concerned that Republicans have hurt the Democratic Party by portraying it as an uncompromising champion of abortion. In interviews and public appearances since Election Day, Democratic officials have said that the party should open its doors to abortion opponents and that candidates should make abortion a less central focus of future campaigns. Party leaders said they were not abandoning their fundamental support for abortion rights, but said Democrats should consider accepting some restrictions that enjoy popular support - like parental notification when teenagers...

An ill wind is blowing in the country these days. A wind of hostility and hatred, the left's hatred of the "settlers." They are the ones who are really to blame for the terror, for the killing of our soldiers, for the killing of our children. These strange people, who abandon their children to the fire of the terrorists, who dared to win a democratic referendum, whose format was determined by their rivals - they are the ones who had the chutzpah to tell the residents of the development towns that we already left the Gaza Strip, and that...

For education and discussion only. Not for commercial use. NEW YORK (Reuters) - Some El Paso Corp. (NYSE:EP - news) employees may knowingly have used incorrect estimates to boost proven natural gas reserves over five years, the natural gas pipeline operator said on Monday. An independent review, which the Houston-based natural gas pipeline operator launched after it slashed its proven natural gas reserves by 41 percent in February, also found that some El Paso employees used methods that were aggressive and unsupportable, or inconsistent with guidelines, to book proven reserves. El Paso's move to slash its reserves came just weeks...

SOMETIMES the little articles in the back of the newspaper tell you more about global trends than do the big pieces on the front pages. A few days ago, a small Associated Press item was headlined: “Norway: Swastika Art Removed.” The item read: “A painting that featured the words Israel and the United States and replaced each ‘s’ with a Nazi swastika was removed from an Oslo art exhibition.” How is it possible to confuse the tiny Jewish state with the vast Nazi empire that attempted to exterminate the Jews? And how is it possible to confuse the United States,...
