Do you live in Texas, but hate governor Rick Perry? Do you love coyotes and hate concealed weapons and lower taxes? Well the Obama campaign is anxious to hear from you. "Your feedback will help hold him (Perry) accountable on the campaign trail, inspire fellow Texans to get involved, and introduce his record -- his actual record -- to voters across the country," Hector Nieto, the campaign's Texas director, told Texas supporters in an email blast today. "Your words will remind him that even as he runs, he won't be able to hide --

In an alternate reality where anyone still cares about Libya or the War Powers Act, this article is the biggest story in America today. As it is, the president concocts a half-assed legal dodge to avoid even minimal accountability in matters of war and somehow it’s not even on the board at Memeorandum. Luckily, Congress doesn’t care either or else we might have had quite a tiff on our hands here. The administration apparently has no intention of pulling out of the Libya campaign, and Mr. Steinberg said that Mr. Obama was committed “to act consistently with the War Powers...

In this post you will see Tom Brady in a 60-Minutes interview say he is still searching for something. Even with a super model wife who is a millionaire, his multi-million dollar contracts, three super bowl rings, etc., etc., he feels like he is missing out on something: John 4:1-14 (The Message): .....He came into Sychar, a Samaritan village that bordered the field Jacob had given his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was still there. Jesus, worn out by the trip, sat down at the well. It was noon. A woman, a Samaritan, came to draw water. Jesus said, “Would you...

They found the military area and a US plane with its door open. However, they did not find any weapons. One protester...

Among the many pieces in the governor's ambitious $220 billion infrastructure investment plan, nothing screams Republican red meat quite like the prison bond. But strangely, the administration has not been able to find a Republican in the Senate to sponsor the governor's proposal for $6.8 billion in state borrowing to build new county jails and state prisons. In another twist, the bond is currently being opposed by the California Correctional Peace Officers Association, an organization that usually aggressively backs efforts to build new prisons. The opposition from CCPOA may be part of the reason the bond has not found a...

Disasters: Searching for Lessons From a Bad Year John Bohannon No doubt about it, the 12 months since the last Breakthrough of the Year issue have been an annus horribilis. Three major natural disasters--the 2004 "Christmas tsunami" in the Indian Ocean, Hurricane Katrina on the U.S. Gulf Coast, and the Pakistan earthquake--left nearly 300,000 dead and millions homeless. In Pakistan, the disaster is still unfolding as winter engulfs the devastated communities. Insurance companies classify such events as "acts of God": misfortunes for which no one is at fault. But in their aftermath, many scientists are pointing out that natural disasters...

The purpose of FreeRepublic.com's multiple message boards is to limit the topics for each board to particular topics. Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE! DO THE READERS A FAVOR. STOP CROSS-POSTING YOUR MESSAGES!

AN FRANCISCO, June 28 - Steven P. Jobs, the chief executive of Apple Computer, demonstrated on Monday his answer to one of computing's most pressing problems: searching for files and information stored on desktop computers. At a meeting here of some 3,500 software developers, Mr. Jobs showed off a coming feature for Apple computers, called Spotlight, that will allow users to search quickly for words and concepts stored on a hard drive by using search technology borrowed from the company's iTunes online music service. The feature will be part of the next version of the Macintosh operating system, called Tiger,...

Backwoods brothers searching for parents November 07 2003 at 09:27PM Two half-starved brothers who recently emerged from the British Columbia wilderness, claiming to have lived in near isolation since birth, are in limbo as Canadian officials try to determine how to help them. Thomas, 22, and William Green, 16, were discovered some weeks ago camping in the bush behind a general store in Vernon, British Columbia, by residents who have since given them food, clothing and shelter.
