On January 14, Vladimir Putin ordered Russia’s natural gas monopoly, Gazprom, to cut back by 60% the natural gas delivered to Europe through Ukraine. His ostensible reason: Ukraine was illegally siphoning off gas for its own use—a charge Ukraine denies. Overall Europe depends on Russia for 30% of its gas supplies, and some 80% of Europe’s Russian natural gas comes via Ukraine. Putin’s order would leave six countries in eastern and southeastern Europe totally without gas.

If you were upset about tensions between community members and police officers across racial lines, what would be the first avenue to address these issues that came to mind? Obviously you would unload a bunch of heavy barrels, chain yourself to them and block traffic on the interstate. Protesters who said they were trying to call attention to racial oppression blocked traffic on Interstate 93 north and south of Boston Thursday morning. The actions surprised police, snarled the commute for thousands, and forced the diversion of an ambulance rushing a car crash victim to a Boston hospital, State Police said....

The protest was organized by the Boston contingent of the group Black Lives Matter, according to an Associated Press report. A group of evangelicals in favor of passing immigration reform have a message for House Speaker John Boehner: "We're praying for you." In new ads, Evangelical Immigration Table–group that has been behind immigration reform on Capitol Hill–asks people to pray for Boehner and House Republican leadership on immigration reform and urge those leaders to listen to their prayers. A Spanish-speaking iteration of the spot will also air in Southern California. "Our immigration system...

The division of the Internal Revenue Service that improperly scrutinized the tax-exempt status of conservative groups sent confidential information on 31 conservative groups to the well-funded liberal nonprofit journalism organization ProPublica, according to a revelation made by ProPublica Monday. “The same IRS office that deliberately targeted conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status in the run-up to the 2012 election released nine pending confidential applications of conservative groups to ProPublica late last year,” according to the ProPublica report. “In response to a request for the applications for 67 different nonprofits last November, the Cincinnati office of the IRS sent ProPublica applications...

Glenn Beck's hate has no place in America, much less in America's favorite pastime. Sports outlets have reported that MLB Advanced Media, the interactive arm of Major League Baseball, is teaming up with the hateful conservative commentator Glenn Beck to stream his shows online. Major League Baseball's partnership with Glenn Beck is shameful and should not be giving him a platform to spew his hate and fearmongering. MLB should immediately sever their relationship with Beck.

My "friends" at the Jewish Funds For Justice have published this little snippett on their site, probably at the behest of their Nazi collaborating benefactor, George Soros: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Finally, Beck doesn’t just invoke Nazis and the Holocaust to demonize people more often than any other prominent figure in America. He is advancing a worldview that asserts, counterfactually, that progressives during the first half of the 20th century paved the way for Nazism — and that today’s progressives are doing the same thing. While other people use the word Nazi for effect, Beck has placed his warped understanding of the shared...

Democratic Party front group Media Matters for America this afternoon accused Free Republic of being an instigator of the "Right-Wing Media Smear Machine" because of an article posted at Free Republic this morning about Barack Obama spending Saturday night partying with reporters from the White House press corps rather than burning the midnight oil keeping tabs on the crisis in Egypt. The article was titled, "As Egypt Burns, Obama and News Media Party Hearty Saturday Night." Media Matters calls criticism of Obama's partying while Egypt burns as a "particularly hollow smear."Media Matters was upset that Jim Hoft picked up the...

In Michigan's First District, pro-health care reform commercials are running on television and radio. Every other commercial is about how wonderful healthcare reform is. Sympathetic media commentators are rushing to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's defense against Republican men, accusing them of sexism toward Washington's most powerful woman. The liberal-leaning Media Matters compiled a video of male conservative pundits making fun of the speaker's rumored use of Botox. Rush Limbaugh took it a step further, saying the best way to limit unwanted pregnancy would be to post Mrs. Pelosi's image in cheap motel rooms. "How do these people handle a strong-willed woman like Pelosi?" MSNBC's Ed Schultz lectured in his Monday show. "Well, they revert to calling her offensive names like 'hag'; they make demeaning...
