Denver Mayor Michael Hancock (D) released an apology after being caught violating his own plea of staying home for this year's Thanksgiving. Before the Pilgrims landed, there was Thanksgiving along the Rio Grande History tells us the Pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving in New Foundland on the U.S. Eastern seaboard.
