I have long been critical of Republicans who abandoned principles to stand with Trump and I am as critical of Republicans who abandon principles to oppose Trump. Principle should stay because people go. The Kavanaugh nomination has been clarifying in this regard. The Resurgent, a blog run by “Never Trump” pundit Erick Erickson, has published its first hit piece on Deep State cheerleader Evan McMullin, ending a nearly 3/4-year bromance between Erickson and the failed spoiler candidate in 2016’s presidential election. It’s predictable; it’s transparent (if you dig into it); and yet it remains as one of the most undiscussed aspects to the current political climate: Multi-media political pundits, including big name National Radio Talk Show Hosts, being paid by DC operatives, Super-PACs, and Campaigns to protect the establishment figures. Pundit Erick Erickson’s The Resurgent website got 10K from anti-Trump, Paul Singer-funded Our Principle PAC in their latest FEC reported, GotNews.com can report. The funding from the neoconservative billionaire wasn’t disclosed to Erickson’s readers at the new venture.

Pundit Erick Erickson's The Resurgent website got 10K from anti-Trump, Paul Singer-funded Our Principle PAC in their latest FEC reported, GotNews.com can report. The funding from the neoconservative billionaire wasn't disclosed to Erickson's readers at the new venture. Singer, who is a pro-gay marriage establishment billionaire, was one of the major financial donors for Marco Rubio. Singer is also a major supporter of National Review which was dispensing the #NeverTrump at CPAC.

There is no rational basis for any of these candidates to stay in the race. Ben Carson's campaign imploded weeks ago. His best showing should have come in Iowa and it did not.
