Monitoring Governor Palin’s pre-ascent to the national political scene was one of the stories that prompted my joining FR while in college. I remember Free Republic being one of the few places online (along with Glenn Beck’s show, to his credit) to profile the rising star governor: her successes navigating Alaska’s international corporate oil scene, her carrying a Down Syndrome baby to term, and before anybody in the media or even GOP establishment knew who she was — her qualifications as a viable for runningmate for John McCain. I stayed up all night before the day of the announcement, praying...

Todd Palin appears to have filed for divorce from former Alaska governor and one-time vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, his wife of 31 years. In a document filed Friday in Anchorage Superior Court, Todd Palin, 55, asked to dissolve the marriage, citing an “incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife.” The divorce filing uses initials rather than full names, but identifies the couple’s marriage date and the birth date of their only child who is a minor, Trig Palin. The filing asks for joint legal custody of the child.

Congratulations to every racer, thank you to every volunteer, and biggest kudos to the wonderful towns and villages along the 2000-mile course that make the world’s longest and toughest snowmachine race happen! Extremely tough conditions causing mechanical hardships forced more teams out of the race than reached the checkered flag this year, so total admiration is due all finishers. Team #41 ran brilliantly and reached Fairbanks first, but the race may not be over. Not by a long shot. https://www.adn.com/outdoors-adventure/2017/02/25/stunned-iron-dog-leaders-disqualified-on-verge-of-winning-second-straight/ While a controversial ruling affecting the victory is challenged and officials sort it all out, I conclude with a more...

Sarah Palin's family is bringing her plenty of happiness these days. The former Alaska governor gushed about daughter Bristol's recent surprise marriage to Dakota Meyer in an interview with Inside Edition from the set of the newly revamped game show Match Game. "That's the best!" she said. "Bristol and Dakota and their little baby girl Sailor – it's all good."

"So grateful for your prayers and support during Todd’s recovery! He’s in a good place – on the couch – insisting if there’s any good season for injury, it’s now. "March Madness is a great distraction," Todd reports. "And catching up on ‘Deadliest Catch’ and ‘Bering Sea Gold’ episodes is some awesome motivational therapy. I can’t wait to get on Bristol Bay waters and pick fish with the family!" In our 35 years, I’ve never seen the guy have to literally hold still, sit down, and take a (winced) breath. And I’ve never seen Todd so touched by the kindness...

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin did attend a Donald Trump campaign rally in Florida after all, a reversal of an announcement made by the campaign after learning Palin's husband, Todd, had been injured in a snowmobile accident. The former Alaska governor, who has endorsed the Republican candidate, campaigned for the GOP presidential front-runner in The Villages, Florida, where she fired up the crowd attacking the protesters who have been showing up at Trump rallies. "What we don't have time for is all that petty punk-ass little thuggery stuff that's been going on with those quote-unquote protesters who are...

Sarah Palin cancelled a Donald Trump campaign event Monday in Florida after her husband Todd Palin was hospitalized following a serious accident. "The event scheduled for Governor Sarah Palin to take place today in The Villages, Florida at 12:00 PM, has been cancelled," the Trump camp's statement read. "Governor Palin wishes her best to Mr. Trump in the upcoming primaries." NBC News reported shortly thereafter: "Todd Palin was in a very serious snow machine crash last night, currently hospitalized in intensive care." Palin made an impromptu appearance Sunday at the Florida Strawberry Festival, briefly speaking to the press but making...

Dear Funny, Original Hillary Speechwriters: hate to tell ya, but the title "First Dude" has been taken for sometime now. I’m sure there are other names that Americans can suggest, though. – Sarah http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3306699/I-d-call-Dude-Hillary-Clinton-tells-Jimmy-Kimmel-d-call-Bill-president-reveals-plans-watch-rival-Trump-s-SNL-appearance.html

The Iron Dog Snow Mobile race started yesterday from Big Lake at 10:00 AK time. This year's race is being called the “water & dirt” race because snow is lacking on some major portions of trail and the race route had to be changed to avoid open water on the Yukon. Through slush and muck, soggy Iron Dog snowmachine racers head north Todd Palin and partner Tyler Huntington (Team 11) are in this year's race and have made it to the McGrath Airport checkpoint as of Sunday night (Feb. 23) – last year, they were early out of the race...

While many in the contiguous 48 states will be watching the Daytona 500 and the Oscars Sunday, the eyes of Alaska focus on the Iron Dog. The grueling snowmachine race has been going strong since 1984. For the 22nd time, former Alaska First Gentleman Todd Palin competes. http://www.breitbart.com/sports/2015/02/22/no-girly-men-allowed-todd-palin-races-iron-dog-honors-chris-kyle/

Todd Palin, husband of 2008 GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, tells Breitbart News that Chris Kyle was “an unbelievable man” who “fought for freedom in this country.” Kyle had appeared alongside Todd Palin on the reality TV show Stars Earn Stripes, where several celebrities competed in military training competitions to raise funds for charities that help American troops. Kyle also served as the personal bodyguard for Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor, at many points throughout her political career, including at the screening of Breitbart News Network Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon’s film about her political rise: “The Undefeated.”“Meeting...

The Iron Dog is the longest, toughest snowmachine race in the world. It is truly a test of endurance, not only for the equipment but for the participants. Two men with past success in the event have teamed together this year to try to capture the title together. All eyes are on Team 11: Todd Palin and Tyler Huntington. Palin has won the Iron Dog four times and Huntington has come out on top twice. Now, they are hoping their amalgamation will translate into another championship. This week Team 11 appeared on Iron Dog Insider, a special program on...
