Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said “under no circumstances” should the so-called migrant caravan be allowed to cross into the United States. Partial transcript as follows: BRENNAN: You were very critical of the Obama administration for taking action via executive fiat as you said, you called it dangerous. This week President Trump on immigration has issued orders bypassing Congress to restrict how migrants crossing the border illegally can claim asylum. Are you OK with that now? CRUZ: Well I’m still studying this specific immigration order, but I’ll tell you look, here’s my view on executive...

Dan Crenshaw’s good eye is good enough, but it’s not great. The iris is broken. The retina is scarred. He needs a special oversized contact lens, and bifocals sometimes, to correct his vision. Six years after getting blown up, he can still see a bit of debris floating in his cornea. His bad eye? Well, his bad eye is gone. Under his eye patch is a false eye that is deep blue. At the center of it, where a pupil should be, is the gold trident symbol of the Navy SEALs. It makes Dan Crenshaw look like a Guardian of...

California is a place unlike any other on the Globe. It boasts perhaps the greatest natural resources of any state along with shining high-tech industries. However, like many good economic stories, government policies threaten its future. Indeed, its government has made California unsustainable. Of course, it wasn’t always this way. As the 1960s came to a close in California, it had a population of nearly twenty million. In the decade before, its economic strength afforded the construction of a vast State Water Project and higher education system that was the envy of the world. Matched with a majestic and trade...

Troops from Camp Pendleton and Texas reported for their first day of work Thursday along the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego... Much of the focus, at least initially, will be on strengthening the border barrier... So far, some 1,300 troops have been assigned to support operations along the California-Mexico border... The Defense Department said another 1,500 troops have been deployed in Arizona and 2,800 in Texas. The total number of troops is expected to grow to more than 7,000.

Nine individuals were arrested Thursday for their alleged roles in a 2017 voter fraud scheme involving the municipal election in a Texas border town. These arrests were part of an ongoing investigation into a coordinated effort by political workers to recruit people who would fraudulently claim residential addresses so they could vote in specific races and influence the results of the Edinburg city election held last year, according to information provided by the Office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. “Illegal voting, particularly an organized illegal voting scheme orchestrated by political operatives, is an affront to democracy and results in...

On July 31, the Houston Chronicle published a front-page story with a provocative headline. "'We've moved on': Political anger after Harvey has eased," it declared, adding: "Experts believe disaster response is unlikely to be a factor in November." It was a significant story by veteran reporter and Austin bureau chief Mike Ward. It asserted that Houston residents initially fed up with the uneven government response to Hurricane Harvey actually weren't going to blame politicians after all. The story began with West Houston resident Betsy Scheer, whose anger had faded. She was going to vote Republican. "My friends are mostly the...

A re-election celebration is underway in Pod 2 of the Montgomery County Jail after inmate number 232573 claimed victory in Texas House District 27. That inmate is known as Rep. Ron Reynolds, D-Missouri City, to the people on the outside. Reynolds was unopposed in the race for District 27 and the latest vote totals show Reynolds garnered 47,305 votes in Tuesday's election. Reynolds was booked into the county jail on Sept. 7. He's serving a year-long sentence after a 2015 conviction on five misdemeanor counts of using a middleman to chase ambulances in order to solicit clients for Reynolds’ law...

For almost 35 years, Tarrant County has been the most reliably red, urban county in Texas. Then, on Election Day, Democrat Beto O'Rourke beat Republican incumbent Ted Cruz in the county.

After losing his bench in a Democratic sweep, Harris County Juvenile Court Judge Glenn Devlin released nearly all of the youthful defendants that appeared in front him on Wednesday morning, simply asking the kids whether they planned to kill anyone before letting them go. "He was releasing everybody," said public defender Steven Halpert, who watched the string of surprising releases. "Apparently he was saying that's what the voters wanted." In court, prosecutors voiced their concerns about the seemingly indiscriminate release of those accused of everything from low-level misdemeanors to violent crimes.

After losing his bench in a Democratic sweep the night before, Harris County Juvenile Court Judge Glenn Devlin released nearly all of the youthful defendants that appeared in front him on Wednesday morning, simply asking the kids whether they planned to kill anyone before letting them go. "He was releasing everybody," said public defender Steven Halpert, who watched the string of surprising releases. "Apparently he was saying that's what the voters wanted." The long-time Republican jurist is one of two judges whose track record of favoring incarceration contributed heavily to doubling the number of kids Harris County sent to the...

Ortiz Jones has not called for a recount, but says she wants to see all provisional, absentee and military votes counted. The Texas congressional race between incumbent Republican Will Hurd and Democratic challenger Gina Ortiz Jones is still too close to call following a dramatic overnight in which Ortiz Jones pulled ahead, Hurd pulled back on top, and news outlets across the nation retracted their projections. On Wednesday morning in Congressional District 23, the state's only consistent battleground district, Hurd was leading Ortiz Jones by 689 votes, with all precincts counted. "This election is not over—every vote matters," said Noelle...

Robert Francis had the most material money and probably $50 million in free fawning media publicity and he still lost. To paraphrase a 1964 song, Money can't buy you an election.

Red Win: The cretins who star on “Saturday Night Live” mocked Texas GOP congressional candidate and retired U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Cmdr. Dan Crenshaw over the weekend, but the decorated war vet who lost an eye to a terrorist attack got the last laugh. Crenshaw defeated Democratic challenger Todd Litton on Tuesday to win Texas’s 2nd Congressional District, even though Dems kept hoping to flip the district blue despite Crenshaw’s double-digit lead.

There were tremors all over Texas Tuesday night, and it didn’t have anything at all to do with any “blue tsunamis” rolling in from the Gulf. Instead, triggered Beto O’Rourke supporters were “literally shaking” all over Twitter as Ted Cruz sent their hero packing. BREAKING NEWS! 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit Texas today from all the liberals “Literally shaking rn” over the Beto loss#ElectionDay — ????????Jeremy Waters???? Robert O’Rourke lost last night even though he raised more money than any other person who has ever run for the Senate. Hollywood dumped millions of dollars into his campaign hoping to beat Cruz … and Bob still lost. T. Greg Doucette broke down the cost of each Beto vote in what turned into a fairly entertaining thread. Enjoy. US Senate for Texas 2012, Paul Sadler Raised: $705,027 Votes: 3,194,927 $/Vote: $0.22 each 2018, Beto O'Rourke Raised: $69,240,350+ Votes (11:33pm ET): 3,413,259+ $/Vote: $20.29 each Allllllll that money for just 200K+ more votes?

Good news white men, white women have become the newly chosen group to blame for any and all things people on the Left just can’t accept. We know, you guys have grown accustomed to being the one group that it’s acceptable to trash and make racist comments about but it’s time to step aside … For example, take a gander at this sweetheart of a tweet from Samantha Bee writer, Travon Free:

Project Veritas dropped an undercover video earlier Tuesday showing election officials admitting “tons” of non-citizens are voting in Texas. O’Keefe’s undercover video caught the attention of Texas Governor Gregg Abbott. “This will be investigated,” Abbott said of the non-citizens being encouraged to vote by election officials. In the video, a Project Veritas undercover journalist asked a Texas election official if her “DREAMer” boyfriend can vote as long as he is registered to vote and has a driver’s license. “Yeah okay” the election official responded. “If he has his ID that’s all he needs. If he’s registered,” the election official said...

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) fended off Democrat challenger Robert Francis O’Rourke to win re-election in a high-profile Senate race Tuesday, but establishment media pundits, Hollywood celebrities, and liberal activists did not lose hope — they had now moved on to dreams of “Beto 2020.” Cruz finished a surprising second in the 2016 Republican presidential primary and began the Senate race as a prohibitive favorite. However, O’Rourke visited fiercely conservative parts of the state that his party had long since given up on, while shattering fundraising records despite shunning donations from outside political groups and pollster advice. Cruz argued that his...
