US Navy Photo. Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG-60) seized a cache of Iranian-made anti-tank missiles and other munitions aboard a dhow in the Arabian Sea over the weekend. In USSR special forces mainly used “tuned” army pistols and rifles. In late 1980s situation changed – special forces got “special” firearms.1. “Vintorez” rifle (above) – first use – Chechen war. 50-100 shots per min, target range 400m, still main rifle in spetsnaz. More: 2. PP-2000 – from Tula firearm making. Made for anti-terror force. Being called “First Russian pistol-machine gun”. Made from metal and plastic pieces so weight only 1500 gramm.–nextpage– 3. RGS-50M (hand grenade launcher 50 mm caliber). Made for special force of KGB. Use plastic capsule grenade shots. Choice between different action grenades. Has “feathers” for...

This is a pretty basic post. It covers a selection of micro-videos that I have collected involving Chinese weapons systems and their use and application. These are pretty short videos. If you want to obtain a more comprehensive study of these weapons systems perhaps you should go to Janes and check out the "official" published data. You-tube has some videos along these lines of course. Although, it's limited pickin's. As such, if you don't like what is provided herein you can go out to You-tube and see what they have to offer. It will be a little different from what...

A Salisbury University student has been charged with illegal wiretapping after prosecutors said he streamed a meeting with a congressional staffer for Maryland Rep. Andy Harris via Facebook Live without permission. Jake Burdett, 20, was charged last week with two felony counts of making an illegal recording and distributing the video filmed during a Maryland Marijuana Justice rally at Harris’s Salisbury office in October, the state prosecutor’s office announced Thursday. Marijuana legalization protesters have long tangled with Harris, who in 2014 worked to block full legalization of the drug in the District of Columbia. A protest outside the Republican’s Capitol...

Developed in the mid 1990s by South African designer Tony Neophytou, the Neostead 2000 is a pump action shotgun with a substantial cult following. It was the first truly high-capacity shotgun put into production, with two magazine tubes over a single barrel (a concept which was independently implemented by KelTec in their later KSG shotgun). This configuration gave it a capacity of 12+1, and a selector switch allowed the shooter to control whether only one tube was fed from or if both would be used alternating back and forth. Thus the tubes could be loaded with different types of ammunition...

Donald Trump has been complaining for years about the promiscuous use of American military personnel. Two weeks ago, he did something about it, announcing the withdrawal of 2,000 troops from Syria and 7,000 from Afghanistan. Republicans joined Democrats in condemning Trump for acting impulsively, sowing "chaos," and precipitating a "national security crisis." But it's the president's overwrought critics who are making choices without thinking, driven by the momentum of military mistakes to support open-ended commitments that make no sense. The U.S. intervention in Syria's civil war was never authorized by Congress, and its aims were nebulous. A few months ago,...

WASHINGTON — Russia conducted another successful test of a hypersonic weapon system capable of carrying nuclear warheads, the Kremlin announced Wednesday. Moscow's hypersonic glide vehicle, dubbed Avangard, has been in development for three decades and can travel at least five times the speed of sound, or about one mile per second. The weapon, which the U.S. is currently unable to defend against, is designed to sit atop an intercontinental ballistic missile. Once launched, it uses aerodynamic forces to sail on top of the atmosphere.

This article consists of a video found HERE. It's actually a pretty good video. Some comments... Is the Stoner 63 really as good of a gun as everyone says? Today is my first opportunity to try one out on the range, and I’m going to look at it in three different configurations: the Mk23 SEAL light machine gun, the “Bren” style automatic rifle, and the carbine. Let’s see how it handles! I owe a tremendous thanks to Movie Armaments Group in Toronto for the opportunity to take the Stoner kit out to the range! Check them out on Instagram to...

Here, I’d like to share my thoughts on some of my dream weapons; my favorite firearms. No, I’m not talking about a “Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range” that the Terminator was looking for. But rather some firearms that I have wanted for some time, but regrettably will probably never purchase. So here’s my dream / wish list. MP-40 Let me start with one of my long time...

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea has tested a new tactical weapon, the North’s official news media said on Friday, reporting that Kim Jong-un witnessed the event in his first publicized visit to a weapons test site since the country test-launched its intercontinental ballistic missile last November. State media did not identify the weapon, and the test did not appear to violate the voluntary moratorium North Korea imposed on nuclear and long-range ballistic missile tests this year. Still, Mr. Kim’s renewed activities at weapons test sites could complicate the already stalled talks between North Korea and the United States over...

STAMFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) – The sound of gunfire and someone shouting “Everybody down, everybody” shocked moviegoers sitting in the lobby of the Bow Tie Majestic 6 movie theaters Sunday night, but the incident appears to have been a juvenile prank. Five children ranging in ages from 10 to 16 were arrested and face both criminal charges and potential school disciplinary action after police say they used toy cap guns to stage the mock attack in Stamford, reports CBS2’s Tony Aiello. Police say three members of the group had noisy toy guns and fired them in the theater while shouting “everyone...

They kept mentioning on the news that retired police officers in Deerfield, IL would be able to keep their "assault weapons", but one item that I didn't see the news pick up on was that, according to the ordinance, ANY government employee is exempt from the ordinance. So unless I can't read English properly, the bozo down at the Public Works Dept. or the Teachers Union goon can keep theirs. This needs to be pointed out big time; more evidence of government rule over us peasants. Excerpt... Sec. 15-87. Safe Storage of Assault Weapons; Exceptions. The provisions of this section,...

neither muzzle velocity nor muzzle energy has anything to do with the definition of "assault weapons," which hinges on military-style features such as folding stocks, pistol grips, and barrel shrouds. And while all so-called assault weapons accept detachable magazines, many guns that accept detachabale magazines do not fall into this arbitrary category because they lack the features that offend politicians like Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who sponsored the federal "assault weapon" ban that expired in 2004 and has been pushing a revised version since the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, last month. To give you a sense of how silly...

This is not fiction… It’s not a conspiracy theory… It’s a plausible explanation for a mysterious event that actually happened. On the evening of May 28, 1993, an enormous blast rocked the Australian Outback. It measured 3.9 on the Richter scale and sent shock waves out hundreds of miles. Truck drivers and gold prospectors in the area saw the dark sky light up with a bright flash. I only heard about the incident last year, when Doug Casey and I met a shadowy figure with deep connections to the US government in a café in Kiev, the capital of...

THE US Navy will mount a laser weapon onto a top-class warship, defence officials confirmed. Top Navy officials said the device is slated to be installed on the USS Portland by this autumn. Crucially, the prototype will not be used in combat, but may pave the way for high-tech lasers that will be used during warfare. Captain Brian Metcalfe said: “They’ve got what I call ‘power modules’ that control the laser that will just fit in those open and reserve weight spaces and then the laser itself gets bolted onto the deck. “It’s not going to be integrated into the...
