My Soldier Serves My soldier is ready; he's packed all his gear. He patiently waits...for the call that draws near. He is one of thousands represented by each center star. I know he will serve proudly in a land so afar. My soldier lays awake...anticipating war ahead. He has visions of the blood he knows may be shed. He embraces the stars and the red and white stripes. For they are the symbols...he will defend with his life. My soldier will walk on enemy's land.... striving to bring peace throughout the desert sand. He will often look up, into the deep blue sky and forever wonder...the real reason why. My soldier is the one that stands so very tall...But it is he golden rope that binds them all. They are bound to their country, their honor and pride...each one a brother, a comrade on each side. My soldier stands ready, his gear all in tack. He knows his misson...there's no turning back.
