Hey, it's still America, and it's still time for the Fall Classic. Rangers in six. (I still hold a grudge against Arizona for 2001...)

You can't throw a shoe in baseball.
You can only throw a shoe in horse racing...

What is a ‘world series’?
Does it travel? Does it have 3 rings?
Is it a circus? If I go, can I get bread?

If you count their stint in Washington DC, it has been 63 years. It is time. (of course the Cleveland Redskins have waited longer..._

I may never get used to November baseball , but I understand it happens because of the expanded playoffs and the need for TV money.
I’m just glad weather will not be a factor with these teams in the World Series. It’s really a roll of the dice, as bad baseball weather is happening in most major league cities this time of year.

What is a ‘world series’?
60 or so years ago, some comedian had a comedic recording about how the World Series came to be. I have previously searched the internet, but have never found it.
It was kind a cute. Maybe some FReeper recalls it and who the comedian was.

It used to be a thing for the POTUS to throw out the first pitch on the Opening Day but I haven’t seen Biden, Trump or Obama do that.

What is a ‘world series’?It's not a thing anymore. The NFL gets better ratings on a typical game on a random Sunday compared to the World Series.
Same deal with the NBA Finals. No one is watching it anymore. Jordan averaged 35.9 million viewers in his last Finals.

Obama threw out a first pitch. I am not sure if it was opening day. It had all the look of a person who never played baseball or even had a solid notion of what being a kid in America was all about. I never see Indonesia in the World Baseball Classic.
I doubt he ever owned a mitt...

Mariners, Padres, and Rays still waiting too. And in the Mariners’ case, they have never been to a WS. Detroit 1984.
