I read it on the WSJ on Friday. What a disgrace! In fact, I went to University of Illinois at Chicago to get my MBA.... and I was horrified when I found out that Bill Ayers (also a Weatherman) was a teacher at the English department, as well as an academic advisor for the so-called "UIC No War". What the f***?!

"Since her release, she has taught at John Jay School of Criminal Justice in New York City,..."

This is the part of the story I find most confusing. What did she teach there, and why wasn't there a stink about that?

Of course the woman should not be employed by any public institution, but I suppose she must earn a living somehow.

The woman had 58 pounds of explosives. She must have been released by Democrats.

There is no evidence whatsoever that mad-bombers ever get rehabilitated. It's just a matter of time and she'll be helping kill somebody else ~ maybe the folks who run that college if everybody is lucky.

Why didn't the families of the two slain officers file civil actions against her for wrongful death, etc. If they had won damages they could have forced her out of the regular employment area and on to the Golf Course with OJ.

Nancy Sorkin Rabinowitz, the literature professor who brought Rosenberg to Hamilton, called Rosenberg an "exemplar of rehabilitation."

Two dead police officers have not been "rehabilitated." I hope the paycheck is going to their families.

It would seem to be the easiest way to get to be a college professor is to commit an act of treason or to get involved with liberals in Criminal acts/ Is there a college that doesnt have at least one ex-felon on the staff?. Well with 90% of the college professors being liberal I guess thats what we get.

I'm with the cops.
But they should have been as vocal as possible (given whatever strictures
they may have being public servants) to get their state to "go red" o
the first Tuesday in Novemember of this year.
(said with apologies to those cops who did try to do this)

""The college does not censor speech on campus in advance unless there is reason to believe the speaker's goal is to cause harm," the statement reads. "

"or, unless it is in any way conservative, pro-American, pro-Republican, pro-gun, or realistically portrays neocommunists, Muslims, fairies or academic incompetents." Just try holding an affirmative action cookie sale at this school and see how fast they decide your "free speech" causes harm!

One-time radical drops teaching plans

Students withdrew applications, donors withdrew pledges

CLINTON, New York (AP) -- A former leftist radical who spent 16 years in prison for possessing explosives has withdrawn from teaching a college seminar after her hiring sparked protests.

Susan Rosenberg made her decision because it was in the best interest of all parties, Hamilton College officials said Wednesday.

In response to her hiring, prospective students withdrew applications and donors rescinded hundreds of thousands of dollars in pledges, school officials said.

Rosenberg, who earned a master's degree in creative writing while in prison, was to teach a one-month course in January called "Resistance Memoirs: Writing, Identity and Change." She was hired through an on-campus organization that focuses on social justice issues.

Rosenberg, who began her activism in the 1970s, was indicted in a 1981 armored car robbery carried out by a gang of radicals. A guard and two Nyack police officers were killed in a shootout. Rosenberg denied involvement in the robbery, and the charges eventually were dropped.

She was convicted in 1984 of weapons possession. Prosecutors said she had more than 600 pounds of explosives that she and another defendant had planned to use in "non-lethal" bombings.

Since Rosenberg's 58-year prison sentence was commuted in 2001 by President Clinton, she has worked as a writer and an activist for human rights, prisoner rights and AIDS. She teaches literature at John Jay School of Criminal Justice in New York.
